I still haven't quite finished the number of requests people have given me, but I've decided I've earned some time off to do my own projects, so I'm getting started on one project I've wanted to do for quite a while.

I've lately been into Terrytoons, catching up on every Terrytoons short pertaining to its most prominent characters that I could find. I even saw the unsuccessful pilot Curbside (to anyone wanting to see it and having trouble finding it, I suggest you search "Terrytoons Pilot").

Mighty Mouse is no doubt the most popular of the Terrytoons characters, and I felt like doing a spoof of Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? based on the following observations. 1. Mighty Mouse is essentially a parody of Superman. 2. Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? is my favorite Superman story.

Because the source material of the parody wasn't exactly a kid's comic, I feel obligated to warn you that in this comic, some characters will die and at least one will be depicted as much more malevolent than their original incarnation.

As Alan Moore did with making every reference to Superman, I'm also going to make several callbacks to the various works of Mighty Mouse, including the 10-issue Marvel comic.

To get started, I've drawn a parody of the cover to Action Comics issue 583, with Mighty Mouse sorrowfully flying away while he is given goodbyes by his love interest Pearl Pureheart and the following Terrytoons characters: Tom Terrific and his canine companion Mighty Manfred, the Mighty Heroes (Cuckoo Man, Tornado Man, Rope Man, Strong Man, and Diaper Man), Deputy Dawg and his sometimes enemies/sometimes friends Muskie Muskrat and Vincent Van Gopher, Heckle and Jeckle, Gandy Goose and his friend Sourpuss, and Sidney the Elephant with his friends Stanley the Lion and Cleo the Giraffe.
