Not too long ago, I made some pictures paying tribute to the villains of the Crash Bandicoot series (one for the mutated animals and one for the scientist villains and Uka Uka). I felt it would only be fair to also do an analysis on the heroes, and I also wanted to do something about the fact that Aku Aku's current voice actor was also the voice of Grim from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, which has joined the list of TV shows I am currently catching up on, so here I am.

Since Crash is the main character of the series, we'll begin by talking about him. Since he's an idiot with good intentions, he's going as Billy. Crash was a mutated marsupial who has always been fighting against the evil of Dr. Neo Cortex, and he's not going to stop any time soon. The original PlayStation games had Crash voiced by Brendan O'Brien, who was also the original voice for Dr. Neo Cortex, Dr. Nitrus Brio, Dr. N. Gin, and Pinstripe Potoroo. Crash has since gone through other voice actors, being voiced by Steven Blum in Crash Nitro Kart, being completely silent in Twinsanity, and his official voice actor being Jess Harnell ever since the Radical games.

Next, we shall talk about Crash's little sister Coco. While she definitely doesn't have the same attitude as Mandy, she's still just as smart. Coco Bandicoot was presumably another mutant animal created by Cortex, but she didn't make an appearance until the second game. She's usually a side character, but she has been playable in some levels of Warped, the racing titles, as a second player character in most versions of Mind Over Mutant, and in most levels of the N. Sane Trilogy (you can't play as Coco in Crash's vehicle levels or in any boss fight other than N. Gin's battle in the third game).

Coco Bandicoot was originally voiced by Vicki Winters in the second game, Hynden Walch voiced her in Crash Team Racing, and Debi Derryberry has been her official voice since The Wrath of Cortex. Her usual role was to be the brains, using her know-how to hack into Cortex's toys.

The penultimate bandicoot we're talking about is Crunch, who made his debut in The Wrath of Cortex and also appeared in a few of the subsequent games, most notably in Crash Tag Team Racing, Crash of the Titans, and Crash: Mind Over Mutant. In Wrath of Cortex, he was almost every boss, each fight having him aided by one of the four Elementals (four tribal masks who had power over the elements of nature). After Crash defeated Cortex, Crunch became his ally.

Crunch was originally voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson, but by the Radical games he was instead voiced by Chris Williams. Because both were tough guys with robot arms, I had him dress as Hoss Delgado.

We will now talk about Crash's semi-forgotten girlfriend Tawna, who is dressed as the Chaos Goddess Eris because they're both pretty blondes. Tawna made her debut in the original game, where she was the damsel in distress that Crash had to save by fighting Cortex and his minions. With the exception of the N. Sane Trilogy, Tawna never made a major appearance in the series ever again, with the excuse being that she dumped Crash and got together with Pinstripe, which as I've said before is something I refuse to accept.

Tawna didn't say a word in the original game, but the N. Sane Trilogy remake does provide her with grunts provided by Debi Derryberry. As an additional bit of Billy and Mandy trivia, Debi was also the voice of Nergal's son Junior.

Last, but not least, we'll talk about Aku Aku, the reason I made this junk in the first place. Aku Aku was a tribal mask who aided Crash and his allies in his adventures, usually functioning in-game as a power-up that would prevent Crash from getting killed in one hit. Collecting another of him would enable Crash to withstand two hits without dying, while getting three Aku Akus would cause Crash to become temporarily invincible.

Aku Aku originally didn't say anything, but by Warped, he was voiced by Mel Winkler and warned the bandicoot siblings about the danger posed by his evil brother Uka Uka. Winkler continued voicing Aku Aku until the Radical games, where he was voiced by Greg Eagles. As I said earlier, Greg Eagles is best known for voicing the Grim Reaper in The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.

Only time will tell what's in store for Crash's next adventure.

Same here. Already I'm only four episodes away from completing its sister show Evil Con Carne.
