Description
I realized I've done only 6 or so drawings since October!!! And even these aren't that good. I don't know what happened. I guess I was so stressed with Uni that I couldn't draw. I'll try to get back on track and submit weekly like I used to.Related content

So much of the time, we only see the selfish side of Thranduil- in the movies, he's a jerk, but even in The Hobbit (I refer to the book by its proper name ), we see him as more interested in the material riches than anything else. I like how you chose to show the otherwise underexplored 'father' side of him.
Legolas makes a cute baby, by the way! I love his expression!

I know that the father-son relationship between Legolas and Thranduil is not really developed in the books. I must confess I became a Thranduil fan because of the movies. I really liked Lee Pace in Pushing Daisies and thought he had great potential.
I know The Hobbit movies changed stuff, added characters and so on. That's what people are pissed about. Me? I am not bothered as I view the movies as the subjective interpretation on someone else's writings. It's kind of a fanart with a slice of fanfiction.
I really like exploring relationships that are vague or not detailed. It's a good use of imagination. I guess this is also a sort of fanfiction. But I never venture in relationships that aren't in the original works. I like relationships like Snape/Lily where you can ask yourself what if Snape wasn't interested in dark arts? What if he had a normal and loving family? The same goes for Thranduil/Legolas. I like imagining that maybe he was a good father, protective and loving.
I agree with all you said. He is a major jerk .
Thank you for your nice words!

It's so interesting to me the thought you put behind your subject matter choices. We had some conversations a while back about ASoIaF characters (was it Daenarys? Or maybe it was Clegane...) that fascinated me, like this one. A lot of the time, I read other people's works and find myself asking the what if questions, about people and their backstories (one of my current obsessions is what if Voldemort had chosen Neville instead of Harry- what if the Potters had lived and Neville had been the Boy Who Lived?) and the cause and effect nature of their lives.
Not everyone understands this. I am frequently asked by my mother why I spend so much thought and imagination and energy on fictional characters. And not even my own fictional characters, but those of other people. It really is, as you said, an exercise of imagination. But that's also how my brain works. I've never understood completely why, but I have definitely learned to embrace it.
