Description
For school, the topic was book cover. I chose Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden.I was halfway through the first painting when the file got corrupted and everything was lost, somehow from that frustration I went turbo and redid this new one in about a day.
Anyway the format sorta works as a wallpaper too, so enjoy!

Wow, it's so eye catching with all those bright reds! Maybe you could have used some deeper, richer reds to bring out a slightly hidden, darker atmosphere to it as well? Like... oo, look at the pretty red! But wait, that part almost looks like blood... hmm...

Beautiful! I love how the bottom right looks more like the traditional watercolors that you're known for and other parts are gorgeous CG. I'd buy this book, just for the cover!

Wow the vibrancy of the colors here are just so energetic and beautiful. Not to mention all those tiny details are simply amazing.
I really love how this works as a book cover and a spread out piece on its own. The fold down the middle somehow looks stylized instead of a line cutting the picture in half.
You balanced both sides of the picture very well. Neither subtracts from the other and the subject takes all the focus regardless of your many details. The image speaks your style very well too. It allows your own tastes to come through but also preserves that traditional japanese look.
Those cranes are beautiful by the way. You did a wonderful job them!
