Description
For school, the topic was book cover. I chose Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden.I was halfway through the first painting when the file got corrupted and everything was lost, somehow from that frustration I went turbo and redid this new one in about a day.
Anyway the format sorta works as a wallpaper too, so enjoy!

I demand detail captures!
The textures are gorgeous, Luci~
Very impressive for something done in a day -- especially after a motivation killer like a corrupted file.
Alas...I should probably read that novel. OTL

Thanks man XD The detail isn't all that impressive actually o.O I don't know why people are so into this.
>> To tell the truth, I didn't finish the novel either..

Wow, you did an excellent job on Sayuri! This book is my favourite, I loved it after reading it for a school project. My copy is a more recent one, it has the movie poster on the cover, but I think yours would do a much better job, it somehows just emits more emotion and elements from the story than a movie poster ever could. A definite fav!

XDD It may look fancier, but the original cover is more appropriate I feel.

well, maybe, considering the story....well, from the main character's view.... >>;
your cover says to me that being a geisha immerses you into a separate world of what seems like beauty, and that not anyone can get into the world of the geisha... at the same time, those that are in it can't really get out (since they are immersed...). overall, there is a sense of mysterious beauty
the original(?) cover that's like.. an old photograph gives off the same kind of feelings, but with a lot less obvious beauty aspects... and the newer cover screams cover-girl in the standard "I'm pretty and somehow mysterious" way.
so, because you managed to get all original cover content + more beauty stuff, I like yours more
(interpretations of art make me giggle because you're probably over there going "man this red swirly stuff turning into flowers is cool!"... at least that's what i tend to be like when i'm drawing >>; )

Well I am glad you think so! Its my job to snazz it up to get high marks anyway XD I can't make something boring and melancholy and too simple and expect an A. And yeah, usually what seems like some boring flowers and swirly things to me can be intepreted into something really awesome to someone else XD Im not complaining tho.
