Little personal fan artEven though I do feel like I've out grown the Warriors series (I started reading them when I was 11) I still wanted to make a tribute picture dedicated to my most favourite character in the series: Leafpool.
This is a scene of her sneaking out of the camp to go see Crowfeather, her love, at the border in a secret meeting. I know, there's many errors in the picture, but this is how I imagined her - golden brown with a hint of ginger, with green eyes like leaves instead of amber. They were my most favourite couple, even though their relationship was 'foolish' to begin wish and caused them a lot of pain and controversy in the future. I felt so sorry for Leafpool in that time, and she was a character I connected with the most.
Anyways, I hope everyone enjoys the picture! I started over a week ago, and worked on it day by day, little by little. These kinds of pictures take a lot of patience and hard work for all the detail... I really want to have a rough /painterly/ style, but I'm a perfectionist and end up detailing everything in sight!

First of all, I'm in awe at the background. I truly miss drawing landscapes and such, and I'm getting back into it soon. Besides that, you always draw everything with a /soft/ feel, and it always complements so nicely with everything else. The grass is so perfect, I never knew how you were always capable of keeping it in the same length. The bushes look nice as well, and I'd bet they were a challenge! The water, though, has to be my favorite part. You always pick the colors with accuracy, and it seems as the water isn't stagnant, but steadily flowing like it's supposed to be.
The colors and lighting are beautifully done, I won't even try to talk about it.
You always capture your work like a photograph; you know how to center things around eachother without even trying (?) everything just fits. There's not too much, or too little involved with the feeling you're trying to portray.
Now the cat is always the thing that ties everything together. You've been working on cat anatomy for as long as you and I have known eachother, and you've finally mastered it. I love how you do the ears, they're pointed at the tip, whereas many artists' draw them rounded. The triangle shape gives it a nice feel. The whiskers aren't too stiff, and flowy, just the medium. The fur detail just finishes me off, you know where each small hair goes. I just can't even explain it, my literacy only goes for an extent.

Para? You know how deeply I appreciate and love the detail of your comments, don't you? Since I've been little, I've been drawing so much, and not even now do I even understand what my art is. Sometimes when people tell me that they love my style, I become bewildered and question in my mind to myself what they find about my style so appealing. To me, it's really nothing special - something that I just create and post to share.
I'm so gifted to have a friend like you to take the time and explain these things to me that I don't realize about my own art. With every line I read of your comment, I felt confidence building up inside of me, and now I look at my paintings differently, trying to merge in with your perspective. Like I've said a thousand times, I don't think my artwork would turn out like this today without your positive influence on me! You're right about how we both support each other when it comes to art; I just hope that I am helping you as much as you are helping me! After reading your comment, I feel so guilty that my comments about your artwork aren't as detailed or helpful. I promise that I will fix that for you! x

You've got so much talent, and I don't see why you're not the most popular artist on DA. First of all, you deserve it, and second of all, you can easily do it!

I just love the way you use colors, the whole thing has that beautiful orange-y tint, even the water! I have a hard time making water any other color than blue lol.
The way you draw cats is just amazing, and the little specks and spots you put on there just make it pop! I love your style to bits Aptic, it just looks so great! And it's nice that you take your time and put so much time into your work, you can tell that's just what makes it pop! Wonderful job, though when is it not?

She's a "feline shapshifter", as in she can be any feline species that there is. From domestic cat to tiger (the two main forms) to cheetas to lynxes ect.!
Sapphire, an OC of mine, [link] is sort of what she looks like, if that helps at all.
She's black, with jet black tabby/tiger stripes, with a white tail tip, white dots on the back of her ears, a white chest and underbelly (photoshop did something funky, and on the one picture of Raven that I have up, her belly didn't show up white but it is), white paws, and a white blaze on her muzzle. She has sapphire eyes, the same color as my fursona Ryker (just a bright sapphire blue), and her mouth is the normal reddish pinkish color. Her pawpads and her nose are both very dark grey, and her inner ear color is a dark grey.
Hope that's descriptive enough, if you need any other details, just tell me!
You can draw her in whatever feline form you would like! I'd love to see her translated into other felines! (such as in leopard/cheetah/jaguar form, her spots are jet black, and her pelt is black with the same white points, in lion form, she's solid black with a jet black dorsal stripe down her back and forehead and white undersides, ect.! the only thing that's constant is the white paws, the white tail tip, the white blaze, and the spots on the back of her ears. other than that, whatever looks normal to the species standard as far as the jet black "points" and the white underbelly goes.)
Gosh that must be terribly confusing XD
Anyway, I've got a whole lot of stuff on my plate as far as commissions go, so you might have to wait a while, but I'd love to know what my half can be now so I can start sketching!

I don't mind about the accuracy of her design, just as long as she's a brown tabby kitten with a blue ribbon I'm happy! x
