Description Characters (left to right): Madison, Alessandro, Sebastian, Edvar

This was the result of two days of playing around with new muscle morphs. Overall, I'm happy. It definitely opens up a lot of different possibilities. I was focusing strictly on each figure's shape, allowing me to make a few mistakes with lighting and underwear props.

Madison is the only one I'm completely happy with. Despite his way bigger than average build, especially for 5'9", I feel like he came out the most realistic. His feet might be a little out of proportion and should be made just a hair bigger. Other than that, everything looks just as I pictured in my head, even down to the vein displacement.

Alessandro came out well done too. His best feature has always been his legs. But something is not quite right about his abdomen. If I bought his waist in, it looked unbelievable on his 6'3" frame. The same thing happened when I bought out his shoulders or widened his whole upper frame. Not sure what it is. I'll have to keep playing with his shape.

Sebastian is the one I'm most unhappy with. Sebastian and Alessandro are suppose to be close in size. His legs were always his weak point, but here, his legs look pretty pathetic. His hands look a tad too big and his waist too small. I am happy with his arms and chest area, but I'm definitely going to work on his shape more.

Edvar is suppose to be the biggest of the four, which I succeeded in doing. Everything came out thick like it's supposed to be and the shaping looks really good. The only mistake I made with him, was his height. He's 5'10", but looks closer to 6'. I also have to add a displacement map to him. Almost always when someone is that big and ripped, they have veins galore.

Any tips, questions, suggestions or comments are all greatly appreciated

Edward Sebastian

I'd like to take a shot at helping you analyze your guys here. Do you have side and rear shots of them as well?

Initial impressions are Edvar has tiny feet for a big guy, and I don't see any evidence of glute to hip tie-in, just a really shallow pelvis and big inner thigh muscles. I would think you would see some trace of the glute and hamstring tie-ins behind the genital area.

It been a while since I was really into the bodybuilder thing, but I competed in powerlifting for about 8 years and have extensive medical anatomy/physiology knowledge.

I've re-done Edvar so many times since this was done. lol Looking back, I actually cringe at this piece. I seem to have an issue with keeping hands/feet and sometimes head in proportion on my guys. You're absolutely right on the glutes. Here's a more current piece of Edvar:

Thank you for the tasteful take on partial nudity-I was a bit concerned about the eyeful I might be getting.

I just messed with the base figure in DAZ 4.5 (the version I got a while back) and can see where the tiny feet are a problem that isn't really something you can fix. I tried generating Leo and he's got the same tiny feet problem. The slide for head, hands and feet scales are VERY touchy! I also see the trap-deltoid tie-in problem seems to be an issue with the base figure.

Does Lux-3D allow a bit more localized tweaking? Might have to download that.

I've only been using Lux for barely two weeks now. To be honest, I'm still putting my scenes together in Daz, but exporting to Lux via Reality Plug In. The slides are touchy, but you can easily type in values manually by clicking on the number setting instead. You can also change the parameter settings by clicking on the cog next to the number and clicking on "Parameter Settings". There, you can edit the value Min and Max. This comes in handy if you want to set something past the default 1.0 or below -1.0

Read up on Lux-it seems to be a way to control lighting, not a way to morph figures, though. Is that correct?

Yes, but not in the way you're thinking. You still have to set up the light fixtures up in Daz. However, Lux is more powerful in the sense that it "sees" the scene as a camera would opposed to seeing it as pixels like Daz.

On Lux, you can adjust ISO, f/stop, Shutter speed, and gamma, just like you would on a standard professional camera. There isn't an option (or at least one that I'm aware of right now) that allows you to edit the light fixtures themselves once it's exported to Lux.

I'm working on another Alessandro piece now. I'm sure you'll love it. It'll be up in a day or two.
