Goldbug; best of the best, a legend among legends. Bumblebee had always looked up to the bot growing up, having heard story after story of the bot's courage and skill. He aspired to become a hero just like his idol, fighting bad-guys and protecting the inocent.

Upon arriving at iacon to enroll at Autoboot camp, Bumblebee would be startled to find that no one seemed to have heard of the War hero; that there was no record of him existing on public record.

Ppht-- action sequences=so hard to draw! I kept having to redraw Goldbug's legs and the 'trooper, and used quite a few football and ruby tackles to reference.

So anyway- Goldbug. In the TFA verse, I'm going with IDW's approach to him, in that he is his own original bot. Furthermore, that he was a bit of a flier/hover craft, having based him on the original G1 Bumblebee's Cybertronian altmode.

Seeing as Jetfire and Jetstorm are the first flying Autobots in TFA(besides Omega Supreme, but thats different), it makes sense that he would be a Decepticon. Add in the iffyness of TFA Autobots in the first place, and even more of a reason for him being a 'con. Though, whether or not he originally was an Autobot or not is up for grabs.

Thus, why non of the Autobot's had heard about him.

Just going on a personal little fan-plot/AU, in which Goldbug may or may not be Bee's creator, and as such would have been told about to the Bumbler whereever he grew up.
