Description
So for many I know, their first recalled exposure with expansion/inflation in media has either been the Blueberry scene from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", or the Sux-o-Lux inflation scene from the opening to "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?". For myself, the first inflation scene that I could recall seeing was actually the Black Magic inflation sequence to "The Three Caballeros"; but the actual first scene that had me realizing that this was something I genuinely found cute, silly, and hell, a little kinky of an idea in several aspects was the potion Alvin took in the "Alvin & the Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein" special. This sketch that drew and I colored, is heavily inspired by that scene. I love how he portrayed Lucy in Alvin's predicament and hope that it looks alright to others as well.Original scetch can be seen here: fav.me/d8mibw7
The scene in particular that this is based off of, can be seen here: youtu.be/ulPPw4XW2SM

Lucy's expression is that of surprise, but I wonder if she secretly likes it?

That was a potion? No wonder Alvin went crazy... I haven't seen that cartoon in years. The movies killed it for me.

Yeah! What's Uncanny Valley? I heard of it but have no clue what it is...
The 4th trailer made me cringe

Uncanny Valley refers to when something artificial or fictional bears such a striking resemblance to reality, that there's a point where it begins to looks more discomforting or "off" to us than something more cartoony or abstract. It's why, like, a robot like this: sociorocketnewsen.files.wordpr⦠looks so much more odd or creepy than, say, R2-D2.
This article covers it a bit more in-depth than I do Β www.buzzfeed.com/danmeth/welcoβ¦
