Researcher’s (Very Informal) Log - 15 May 2017

Today’s research has been exhausting! ;^; Something must have been wrongly listed in the recipe we formulated last week, the potion BLEW UP AGAIN. Thankfully nobody was hurt this time, but...

ARRRGH WHAT WAS IT THAT WE HAVE GOTTEN WRONG? The Maglia Pollen? It can’t be, the test potions earlier responded well with that added in! The grounded Starlight Quartz? Did we put in too little? They’re so hard to come by that I wouldn’t want to use up to much… Perhaps I should add in some more? It might stabilize the Stardust mixture so the reaction wouldn’t be labile…

But more importantly, I needed a new cauldron (and a spare, just in case)! And a few more flasks, beakers, retorts, and all sorts of lab equipment to replace the ones that got broken! I invited my newest apprentice Razz to accompany me on my way to my supplier.

Razz may be a bit of a goofer at times but he’s a very sweet and outgoing kid. While he’s been working hard to get his first few potions right, he seems to be a bit lonesome since he’s only just arrived a month ago. Since he’s a newbie it would be great if I could show him around the village!

Besides, I could use take some time to meet some of the new villagers myself. When Nox was visiting last week she expressed her concern, saying that she’s worried I may have gotten too holed up in the lab working on this experiment! Normally, I’d reassure her everything will be fine, we have more than enough company here at the lab and the experiment should be done in no time. But at the rate this experiment is going…

It certainly will be a while before we all could casually mingle outside in the village square. I suppose she was right after all, and it wouldn’t hurt to get to know some of the newer residents that came in recently like Razz. What kinds of new faces will we meet? It’s always exciting to get to know a new Soosh and their interests, after all, to be sorted into Bitter Village, a Soosh would have to have an outstanding love of learning! Hopefully I’ll get to find a few more budding botanists and alchemists too!

While we were at the supplier’s store, we met the Soosh of Raven Tea, Corvus , who was also stocking up on supplies after he had gone out in the Thickets. Corvus and Razz had gotten along very nicely, the raven black Soosh was eager to help explain the different types of equipment to my young apprentice. While Corvus isn’t under my tutelage and seems to be self-taught, I can tell that he has an impressive grasp on the basic concepts and theories of alchemy!

We got everything we needed, and the boys wanted to find a place to eat. I suggested that we could should swing by Winnie’s cafe, since I myself have been craving the rich and aromatic cappuccino she makes! It seems she’s been rather successful, there are many more Sooshes at her cozy little shop compared to when I first came here.

Winnie herself seems to be as diligent as ever. She was seen chatting with Cosette , the Blueberry Buckle Sushi Cat, and another new Soosh when we entered her store. While she’s a bit shy towards to boys at first, she eventually managed to exchange a bit of witty banter with them. I couldn’t help but notice… she seemed to be acting a bit coy while talking to them? Aww, that’s actually quite adorable!

We met the new Soosh Dominick , who seems to have a knack for cheesy jokes (much to Corvus and Razz’s chagrin, heh). He said he often drops by Winnie’s cafe after napping outside in the afternoon. He seems to be a very chatty personality, but his jokes can get a bit too much for me, even!

I took the opportunity to get to know Cosette, I’ve seen her around a few times, on her way to the Thickets. I could tell that she, like Corvus, had been hard at work with collecting items, and had stopped by the cafe to unwind after a long day. She seems very outgoing, and was boasting about how she managed to mine a handful of rare iron ores earlier. She also spoke fondly of her brother and friends.

Winnie had a camera with her and had us take a group photo outside for her café’s photo board. She let me keep this shot from her as a gift. Everyone looks so adorable!

It’s certainly been quite a good day, I had a great time getting to know the new faces in the village!

TLDR: It's the 1st episode of My Little Sushi: Friendship is Magic. Hana has found the other 5 wielders of the Elements of Harmony. WHAT ADVENTURES AWAIT?

Omg I'm sorry for this garbage dump of a "log" but HONESTLY I'm pretty happy about that picture! Took me so long to make (14 hours or more i cri)

From left to right, top to bottom, the Sooshes and respective owners are Winnie (Pandapalz ), Cosette (Axeloops ), Corvus (MewW0lf ), Dominick (vapordog ), Razz (Tesvp ) and Hana (me ofc). Let me know if there's any mistakes in how your Soosh is portrayed and I'll try to fix them asap! ;;
