I did this one on a 19" x 24" bristol paper... as big as it was its all charcoal ( after i was finished i added white pastel for highlights). This was my first time doing a picture with all charcoal...i actually find charcoal a lot easier to work with...all except for the smearing..

Yeah I love charcoal too and once you get the hang of it it is so much easier. I love the smoothness of this and it looks simplified but it still looks like a photo.

hey, Yeah, its my first attempt. i call it luck, but what i found what really helped me ws the way i was shading...tussie works really well! it was also a lil easier than i thought it woudl be just because there ws so much black to color in.

Very nice. Very lifelike. The eyes seem a little too-glare-like or whatever, but this is a really good charcoal drawing. I like.

Holy cow! This is so realistically and well drawn that it looks almost as if you just turned the poster image grayscale in Photoshop. Amazing!
