But it's hard and you can do it in million ways! ;n;
But let's go. He's in the flowing blood. I assume it is a blood by it's redness and stains it leaves. It's flowing so it goes through him, embrace him, is still in the process of interacting with him. His expression is pleasant so he accepts it, he feels good about it and is keen to see what this leads to. In the background you can see strings. In his dreams he sees red strings as a part of destiny. So...
He surrenders to destiny and look forward to what it brings.

Abs symbols abs.

Hmm...You're only partially right. The fluid he lays in is indeed blood, his blood and the blood of his desired victims. Not to say Brighton is a murderer or a serial killer, but he has dark thoughts. Very dark thoughts. Hence the muddy shadowing. The strings you see are actually not strings, but fins protruding from his back. I didn't portray that all that well. <|D; Those simply represent his heritage, though, but yes, the color red does indeed also stand for his future. The title denotes that Brighton himself is the beast, perhaps implying that he must sacrifice himself to keep from becoming the beast, or that he must accept it in order to control it.

...There's a lot more to it, but it's just me talking in circles, then.

And yes. Abs symbol abs.

Now that you said it, it looks like a fin. To see the borders of it you just need to focus.
And I know now the meaning of this piece~
It's really nice. I always love and appreciate the work that has something more in it than pretty eyes. I really can't wait to see his future!
And the beast thing makes me....happy, let's say happy : )

Oh, and blood would mean it's gonna be hard and not pleasant at times.

I agree with Chibi. Why would you ever need an excuse?
