Gilbert always wants to make certain that he’s as safe as can be. He doesn’t want to take too many risks, fearing what could possibly happen if he did. The terrors of a possible injury or damage keeps Gilbert from pursuing more than he could possibly handle, which becomes both an advantage and a handicap for him

PASSIONATE:

Starting with skeletons to mechanics, Gilbert is able to develop a strong passion for his favorite things, devoting most of his time to that. Sometimes, his actions seem like manic obsessions, but he means well.

OBLIVIOUS:

Though he may not be truly want to be oblivious, he has the tendency to not realize what people mean until the last minute. Sometimes, even his actions are done, and he’s oblivious to the opinions of others. Especially when he goes around in his Vespa, he believes he’s rather cool and is oblivious to the fact that he really isn’t.

PENSIVE:

He tries to think before he does anything rash, which goes along with his need for caution. He doesn’t want to make any unnecessary mistakes, and to avoid that, he has to think before he does things. Therefore, he’s in his mind for far more than is probably healthy.

GUILTY:

Gilbert constantly feels as though people are searching for flaws in him, and though he may not always see it in action, he tries to make it seem as though he's not quite that bad. He tries to cover up his flaws, especially after the museum incident, and does everything in his power to keep that flaw from the eyes of the many. He wants to make sure no one will know what he did in his past, and to ensure that, he makes certain not to do anything similar to that again.

LIKES:

His Vespa, which he believes makes him look like a coolio. He doesn't actually look like a coolio.

Skeletal structures. Skulls are his favorite. He makes sure to clean them thoroughly everyday.

DISLIKES:

Doing anything reckless, especially if it jeopardizes the safety of others.

Cleaning anything excessively. Organization is insanity.

JOB:

Gilbert used to volunteer at a museum out of town, but after the business there, he doesn't enjoy going there anymore. Instead, he works at the library, shelving books for enough pocket money to buy little things on his own. Despite the fact that he left home, his father sends him money to pay for any necessity in his new home.

ALLMATE:

NAME: Roger

FEATURES:

Roger has a round form with an always smiling face. The face is probably more unnerving than kind, but it’s a smile nonetheless. He hovers around Gilbert, telling him what should probably be done at certain times. He has large teeth, though, that can bite when a threat is detected close to his proximity. Sometimes, though, Roger gets a bit out of hand and can bite simply because he wants to, but that can be avoided by keeping somewhat away from him.

HISTORY:

Gilbert always had this fascination for bones, skeletal structure something he always admired in both humans and animals. He found them to be both aesthetically pleasing and symmetrically accurate, constantly asking for any leftover samples from the museum that his father worked in. His father worked in the paleontology department, so Gilbert’s desire for these bones was usually sated as he was brought little fragments of bone that came from some prehistoric creature. So, it was no surprise when he volunteered or a position in the museum. His favorite exhibit was the fossil one, and he always gazed at the way the bones were always formed back together like some sort of complicated puzzle. He loved that, and always gazed at them.

However, this sort of feeling wouldn’t last for long as the museum was threatening to shut down its skeletal exhibit, unable to gain the funding to keep it open. He was absolutely devastated, and as a last resort, he stole the skulls, taking them one by own as he piled them up in his closet. Unfortunately, the missing skulls were found, and rather than allowing his son to have such a taint on his permanent record, his father took the blame. He was fired from his job, given a penalty to do some sort of service to the city rather than jail, but nonetheless, Gilbert got the brunt of the message. He was reckless, letting his impulsive actions take over. That caused his father his job and himself the trust he had built after so much time with his dad. That was something he could never gain back again.

As soon as he was able, Gilbert moved out of his hometown, eager to rid of his past faults and start anew, this time in a place that knew nothing of him. He did take a skull with him, though, the giraffe skull. He was allowed to keep that one since it wasn’t exactly a treasured artifact. That and he hid it well. Now, though, he doesn’t need to worry about being caught, so he wears it atop of his head casually, avoiding the question of the genuine aspect of it.

Gilbert first got Roger at a store in Vacidado, wanting something to help him through the rather foreign city. He programmed systems that would help him go around, and Roger would not be what he is if it weren’t for the fact that Gilbert put the time and effort to add on multiple additions. Sometimes, this causes malfunctions, making Roger shut down without meaning to or bite people in the vicinity. Gilbert thought of replacing him, but he grew fond of the little ball, despite its flaws. Still, he wishes the thing wouldn’t bite so much.

Gilbert is studying on his own about different skeletal structures, hoping to one day work at a museum, just as his father did. Of course, he didn't want to be a paleontologist, but he would figure it out eventually. He rides his Vespa every day, now, making sure that he has taken all the precautions that a motorcycle can't offer with the Vespa. He likes to maintain a sort of reckless appearance, but never goes as far to actually accomplish that. It may seem like some sort of odd mask, but he feels as though if he were reckless, it would bring more trouble than it was worth. So, he makes sure that maintaining safety is his number one obligation.
