Another day of mortal peril out of the office for Callie.
And lots of work for Chance and Jake later, putting back together the plane 😀

Meh... stuff like that happened several times in the show. Callie had a way to attract trouble. Still she is cutie.
By the way I heard that a new season of Swatkats is totally happening!
Yeah!

Really!  Who hoo!
Did you know that Swat-Cats and Two-Stupid Dogs were products of a Make Your Own Cartoon Show contest that was made by the Turner Broadcasting Network in an effort to revive Hanna Barbera's flagging fortunes in the 90's?

Really? Did'nt knew that. Both turned out great and now have a cult following. Two Stupid Dogs, not really my thing, but I can recognize that is great cartoon I his own way.
I heard that Swatkats got axed because regulations asking for less violence and more educational programmig. So Ted Turner pulled the plug and replaced them with his brain fart "Captain Planet and the Planeteers".
Curse you Ted Turner! (shakes fist)

Well, Jane Fonda(his wife) was part of that movement led by Shari Lewis to establish government regulation over content in children's television led from behind by Hillary Clinton, because she wanted to tell the networks what they should show on television. It ran many shows off the air in the 90's and partly responsible for ending Scooby Door, GIJoe, and a few others. Turner tried to capitalize on the vacuum made by the legislation that Shari Lewis helped pass(She was rewarded with the show, Lambchop's Sing-A-Long on PBS). He came up with Captain Planet and a few other forgettable shows, mainly to help establish The Cartoon Network as many other networks did away with their children's programming to escape the reach of the government oversight over their programming. It largely killed the Saturday Morning Cartoon. Turner and Fonda were huge contributors to Bill Clinton's campaign, and he made sure to pay them back handsomely

"Think of the children" as usually used to score some political points. Yes those moves more or less killed action cartoons on Tv.
Now that I think about it the vacuum this created can help to explain why the impact of anime was so huge around 2000.
No alternatives existed, and the industry that could compete never developed.

Good points! It makes me wonder if the cartoon industry might have been pleased that the architect of the Educational programming requirements lost the election. I imagine though, Teen Titans Go and Johnny Test would have been among the casualties if they had tightened up the educational requirements like they had been when the legislation was first passed, and not changed by the Gingrich Congress to allow for Morals teaching, which helped out many shows get around that requirement.

Also the wide spread of cable made the requirements moot anyway in the end, but no before action cartoons were killed for good! I guess the Dems losing would have helped,  butvnow we can only dream. Could you imagine a whole decade worth of action series of the quality of say "Swatkats" or "Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates"?
It would have ben The Renaissance Age of Animation, but in morning TV!

Thank you!
I'm going right now back to color some of my drawings from inktober. They are very tempting for that . Some where more like line art after all and looked kinda flat.
This one looks much better in color 😊

agreed. colored ones always make things popout more in detail. but line art and ink are always fascinating to look at to. o7

Yes a good ink drawing stands by itself. And if you can do consistently good ink drawings you are set as an artists.
However in this times of digital art, ink drawings unless they are spectacular, fail to bring atention (not flashy enough I guess).
So color is like adding a bit of spicy sauce 😊
