This is simply beautifull! How ever did you manage to get so much light into this photo despite there being no sun? The reflexion is so clear, eventhough the water itself isn't. The frame is so big, or was made to seem big, it's very impressif, for me in any case since I have no knowlegde or photographic skills at all, or almost none anyway lol
I'm sure that if this there wasn't a river/lake at this location the scenery would lose much of it's beauty and interest. Was this a lucky shot? I ask because all the elements are together to make this a perfect shot and it seems almost impossible for it to have been random.
Give the size of the image available for download and my current obsession with Harry Potter (again) I won't even think twice before using this as my next desktop pic.
Thank you for this! ^^ and congrats on the Daily Deviation!

The exposure was key as was the use of the correct filter a 2 stop ND Grad sorted out the exposure difference between sky and ground, metering off the brickwork ensured a correct exposure. I took 5 or 6 of this each one was slightly different and this was the one I picked.

Thanks for all the comments on this picture, it was taken at the Bishop of Bath and Wells palace in Wells, UK. I was lucky in the fact that it was a still day and the clouds created an atmospheric scene. I used a 2 stop ND Grad to balance the sky and the water, there was a little post picture processing and the removal of a few "bits" but it is pretty faithful to the scene.

Really great framing and angling. Did you get lucky with the lighting or have to wait for it to be right for the awesome reflection?

Fantastic place, great photo, love how the reflections are so clear and the angles of the walls look great as they slant away. Lovely
