I prefer to think it as more of a species-swap (even though robots aren't a species) than a bloodswap, since the bloodswapping is really just something I thought of later...

Why did you pick the colors you did for each bot?

Well, Aradia's color is shifted four places down the spectrum (if you count Karkat as the place he is in the zodiac and not the lowest) and so I shifted all the other bots four places down as well to match.
