I didn't know how to draw some details, so it might look a little weird.

About how it would work in Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2?

Well,
I think it would neither be a chomper or peashooter variant. On the character selection tab, there would be a tab written "Hybrids", and when you selected the tab, a list of special hybrid plants would appear (could have the same for the zombies, but don't have ideia for hybrid zombies yet) and, for example, when selected the Snap-Pea tab, another list would open but with the Snap-Pea variations. You would need to do some sort of mission or challenge to unlock these characters and you would only be able to use them on new and specific PvP types of matches, on a new and specific type of Garden and Graveyard Ops and on the Backyard Battleground, so it doesn't become to overpowered and unbalanced.

For abilities, I think Snap-Pea should has the Chomper bite and swallow primary abilities but when it finishes swallowing the zombies, you could shoot a zombie head (with the possibility of aiming). For secondary abilities, I think Snap-Pea should have Chomper's Burrow and Goop abilities, and Peashooter's Pea Cannon but instead of 12 ammo in a clip Snap-Pea has 10.
