I don't normally post my commission work (don't really know why) but since this is my first full color commission, I felt I should break with tradition. This was done for one of my wife's coworkers. The client wanted X-23 and Gambit with the main focus on X-23. I know nothing of X-23 but was told that Gambit was like a father figure to her. Well my thinking is father figures in the X universe are also trainers. So I put them in a training scenario and when ever you train one of the feral (Wolverine, Dakin, X-23) you've got to watch yourself. In this case Gambit came close to getting an unwanted nip. The coloring style was inspired by two of my faves on deviant and check em out if you haven't already. I used a stock photo from as reference for Gambit's pose but changed it up a bit.
