I really like the weird feeling of this image! I thought they were red ribbons around her, till I clicked (wanted to check the meaning of the title as well). She's beautiful! and so the image and the fishes~

Hi,
This is a good picture. I really like the idea, and the contrast between red and white is a strong concept.

Things I like:
- The translucent and sleekness of the red fishes are very nicely done. I like how their scales reflected their movements and lines.
- The pose of the central character is nicely done. Her body language draws attention to the object matter of the ring at her palms.
- I like the composition, the use of fishes as a circular frame is quite effectively pulled off, here.

There are a number of things that could have been improved, however. First of all, the finishing of the figure can still be tightened up. Specially on her limbs and skin tone. Her hair also can use a lighter, more delicate definition. As it is, there are parts of her hair that seems heavy and rather smudgy.

Her dress is too accentuatedly pinched at the waist by her arm, the folds do not follow a fluid and consistent pattern before and after the arm / waist interruption. At the moment, her left arm (the one on the foreground) seems to be intent on pressing down the dress to create those foldings or creases.

The fishes are wonderful, wonderful- but I think if you had used a slightly different value of red to bring them out, they could have been more delineated better. Also, maybe the picture could have used a more defined light source to leverage a play of light against dark from. Maybe if the ring is glowing, the fishes and their slimy scales could have reflected such an ethereal light source? Just a thought.

I would also pay more attention on how the dress sits on the character. At the moment, the relationship of the dress and the body of the female can be worked a little further. For example, maybe accentuate where the breasts are slightly pressed in by the edge of dress, or add a shadow to indicate the crossing of the gold band across her chest. Little details can add a lot to a picture's finish.

In any case, this is a very good picture. I really, really like the fishes. Their eyes and forms are surreal and beautiful. I also like how you capture the expression of the character, her sadness translates well across the picture.
