Description Ta-daaa. Winter-themed fractal as promised! Again, nothing special, but I liked the colors, shapes (like a bloom ) and framing enough to post this one and to match this #winterwonderland2023  theme that's going around

Made with Chaotica, no postwork, without AI assistance.

*** New Hidden Fractalist issue is coming out this Friday! While waiting for it, be sure to check out the latest issue here: Hidden Fractalist Vol. XXX.Hello everybody and welcome *back* to my project called Hidden Fractalist! Goal of this project is to discover new, rising fractal artists in the depths of the fractal art community and bring them into the spotlight between other fellow artists and show them some love, help, support and friendship. My today's guest is @photodo94! Dominique has been member of DeviantArt for 3 years , and when you browse through his gallery, you'll stumble across some wonderfully crafted fractal manipulations and structures! Let's proceed with the interview., Hello and welcome to the Hidden Fractalist interview! Could you please kindly introduce yourself to us?Hello, thank you very much for the invitation to respond to your interview. My name is Dominique, I am 69 years old and I live in France in the south of Parisian suburbs.,How did you discover Fractal Art and why did you decide to make it? Can you tell us about your first steps?I discovered the world of fractals quite by chance. I really like photography and I use Photoshop a lot for photomontage, collage and digital painting. 3 years ago I started looking online for other creative software. Mandelbuld 3D immediately appealed to me for its possibilities and its magnificent renderings. Despite a certain complexity, I armed myself with patience (using it had become a challenge) and after a few tutorials (only 1 in French, I absolutely do not master the language of Shakespeare) and also a lot of trial and error (still today) my computer gave birth to my first fractal., What medium(s) do you work with? Are you experienced with any other software?I work a lot with Mandelbuld 3D which is my favorite software to unleash all my creativity.I also use Jux and Incendia software but to a lesser extent (see some compositions in my gallery). I plan to soon post old “relooked” fractals created using these softwares.I use Photoshop and Topaz studio for post production.,Do you make your art professionally, or rather just as a hobby? My work is simply a hobby. I'm retired with a lot of free time and I don't consider myself an artist. For the anecdote, I once participated in an amateur art exhibition and many people were intrigued by the fractal that I exhibited (lots of questions and “scared” as soon as the mathematical formulas were mentioned).,Do you have any inspiration here on DeviantArt? Do you have any favourite artists you'd like to mention?Yes, a lot, even in areas other than fractals, I am sensitive to many different art forms. Many artists practicing fractal art inspire me, I cannot name them all but if I had to name one, I would salute here the work of Marijeberting whom I admire very much and who is a precious source of inspiration in my work. I would also mention @Nicolas-Clement , who took his first steps on DA at the same time as me and whom I regularly follow.@AkuraPare, @AureliusCat and @batjorge are also artists whose excellent work with Mandelbulb has greatly influenced me. @OttoMagusDigitalArt for his beautiful compositions created using the UltraFractal software.I would like to take advantage of this question to say that I have unfortunately noticed that many artists who use Mandelbulb are producing less and less and that for several months fractal creations have no longer enjoyed the success they had in the past. A bad passage no doubt!,Do you think you become more skilled and experienced with every new piece?I hope this is seen in the evolution of my creations since I started 3 years ago. I think I'm becoming more and more demanding of myself, I don't hesitate to do and undo my work several times before being satisfied and posting it on DA.,Are you willing to share the process of making any of your fractal pieces?Currently I often rework an old fractal by reworking the parameters of its formulas (created or coming from other fractals), its coloring, its lighting in order to give a different meaning to its original appearance, a new life indeed. I increasingly use additive software like Photoshop and Topaz Studio to include exterior elements in the composition or give a more artistic look in terms of coloring.,Is there any goal you’d like to reach both with fractals and your artistic journey on DeviantArt?My main objective is to improve my work in order to make people forget that it was designed by software dedicated to the creation of fractals (a real paradox!).,When we visit your gallery, we can see a lot of wonderful fractal manipulations! What inspired you to make those?I love surrealism, science fiction, and fantasy. Salvador Dali, Max Ernst, Roger Dean as well as Zdzislaw Beksinski inspired me a lot, in fact I have integrated some elements of the latter's paintings into some of my compositions.I like to tell a story through my compositions. To do this I complete them with external elements such as characters, animals, nature.....and a little humor., What was your reaction when you have gotten your first Daily Deviation feature?I absolutely did not expect it, I did not think that my work would have found such a response. I felt great joy of course and at the same time encouragement to continue and persevere in my modest work.,INFERNO by @photodo94. Featured by @phoenixleo , Suggested by @LindArtzGiven September 2, 2023If you could describe fractal art in one word, what would it be?Universe(s).Community QuotesDominique est un artiste que j’admire. - @KizukiTamuraI always find their posts imaginative and entertaining, often with an intriguing appeal that makes me want to know more about what is going on in the image - there often feels like there is a bigger story behind their images. - @tomharries70I will say that photodo94 is an incredibly skilled fractal artist! His work offers up an innovative and creative take on fractal art and it is always a pleasure to view it! - @darkroots77In my opinion @photodo94 is a very talented new fractal artist. I admire his work and faved most of his posts. It's refreshing to see his amazing work in these sad AI times. - @janheinI have known Dom through his art for some time now here on DA. And though I am not qualified to talk about the techniques of his work I can say the visuals he creates in his art and the emotions they elicit from this viewer are always rewarding and leave me wanting too see more…and he delivers time and again. Oh and did I mention that he is one hell of a good person. I was very happy to learn that his art would be featured in this forum. It certainly warrants to be recognized among his peers as special stuff and certainly deserves the attention and exposure it will receive from this Hidden Fractalist interview. Kudos all. - @Trippy4UDominique (@photodo94) is a fractalist artist with whom I immediately had a good connection, because we have universes in common. His style, very recognizable, immediately appealed to me, because there is a real work of composition and search for atmospheres. Each of his creations tells a story, like a film poster, a record cover or a novel cover. And the work on the fractals themselves is also remarkable. I've been following him for almost 3 years now and he always manages to surprise me! - @Nicolas-Clement The fractal creations of photodo94 (aka Dominique) are captivating not only for their visual complexity, but also by their ability to stimulate our imagination and transport us to other, ever more astonishing universes. To create his magical compositions, Dominique draws his inspiration from the sources of sci-fi, fantasy, surrealism, and in some fascinating corners of our earth and our myths. - @photosens Each work of this artist takes me into the world of something unknown, alien. Every time I look at his work I am amazed by his imagination and it’s like I’ve read a little fantasy story! It's always interesting and unusual, it's something you don't see in everyday life. A very talented artist and a great friend! - @jasminira Thank you so much @photodo94 for the interview! Have you come across a talented, but unknown fractal artist? Feel free to suggest them to me via note, I'll be more than happy to interview them!Thank you very much for everyone's support, and for reading this issue as well!
