Description It is painful to lose someone you love.

One of the photos that i prepared to submit, but never actually did because i didn't think it was good enough or i wasn't happy with in some way. This one's from the 1st of February.

Hey, i'm glad you like my work! This shot isn't really very old. I took it at the start of February 2005. But I have been submitting some older shots recently (mostly from january or february 2005).

Wow that's really great! ..almost looks like a 3D render or something.. great detail, very clear.. awesome work!

it does look a bit like a 3D render it would be cool to make it in 3D and compare them hehe... Glad you like it!

Simply gorgeous! The contrast is beautiful, the silver just pulls your eye straight to the leaf... and the droplets add the entire feel of lonelyness to the shot... very very nicely done

I walked out the front door and saw this little leaf sitting on top of my brothers car and i couldn't resist getting a couple of shots. I don't think it would work very well without the drops. Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you like it

well this is a pretty neat macro...I like the detail in the surface of the ?car paint and the leaf itself...I would have liked to have the leaf detail just that little bit sharper...the focus has concentrated on the right side mainly
otherwise though, a great submission - glad you shared!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lukeroberts In reply to Argocat8 [2005-03-15 07:54:15 +0000 UTC]

yeah, it would have been better to get the whole leaf in focus. maybe that's why i wasn't going to submit it and yes, it's on a car roof

The textures are my favourite part of this one, the colour isn't outstanding and shouldn't be.

I *LOVE* this picture. It's my favourite I think of all the ones of yours. (bad sentence, I know). But I love it!!
I like how the leaf seems so lonely, and drippy...but the background isn't black, its silver, which leaves some hope for the little lonely leaf

Lovely interpretation i like to think there is some hope for the little leaf THanks for your feedback!

i love the photo. i think likening rain drops to tear drops is an overused metaphor, but i love the way the contrast between the colors in the leaf and the greys of the background and rain works to convey a similar sense of sadness.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

lukeroberts In reply to nepasavaler [2005-03-15 08:01:54 +0000 UTC]

it probably is an overused metaphor I'm sorry for being cliche I was going to write how it was the tree crying because it has lost one of it's leaves... hehe

nepasavaler In reply to lukeroberts [2005-03-17 16:58:04 +0000 UTC]

aah, well, it's interesting to think about (trees being sad at the loss of their leaves). Only the title is clichΓ©, i thought.

lovely.

aww! I can really imagine a children's story about that... the tree loses its favourite leaf and it's all upset but then it gets new ones... *thinks*

wow! I loke how the leaf isn't quite dead yet and all brown. I love the color and how it's still decaying. And if it had been a freshly fallen leaf that was still green, it would have given the picture a whole different perspective. Awsome shot!

If the focus were tweaked to make it more selective, this would be stronger. However its a nice photo in and of itself. You have a great way with color.

Thankyou I like the focus tweaking idea. I think that would improve the shot a lot. Thanks for the suggestion!

Brilliant The autumnal colours of the leaf and also the rainy grey background give the impression of death which relates so well to your artist's comment. Great job
