This is going to sound weird, but it's quite nice to see Spiers in a situation where he doesn't have all the answers - he's much more likeable and heroic here because he seems to genuinely be in danger. All the same it seems to me that his fear isn't being defeated by his father, but maybe ending up just like him - like he's hiding his true nature or something. Great scene visually too of course.

A powerful and scary entity like that appears and scares the crap out of you, but then you hear his name is Vergil, and he no longer seems scary

Simple psychology. If something has name, it is not as unknown or scary anymore.

I just meant the name Vergil is a...wimpy name...(in my opinion) for someone as terrifying as he is.

No offense to Lulzy.

I disagree, I think its a wicked awesome name. Sounds like he comes from the underworld and is ancient. What did you want him named, Bob?

No, Bob would be even sillier, wouldn't it? Many people associate the name Vergil with the underworld because of the Devil May Cry game series, but in actuality, Vergil is the Roman poet of Latin Literature, who also had influence's in Western literature as well, most notably the Divine Comedy of Dante, (this is where the Devil May Cry series copied their names, in which Dante is actually the name referenced with the Devil and the underworld, not Vergil).

But you are allowed to disagree, as with anything there will always be those that agree or disagree on something. I'm just stating my opinion that the Vergil name is not a menacing one. This doesn't stop the fact that Lulzy is a great creative writer and artist though, as I am a big fan of her work.

Oh that's fine if you don't care for it, history lesson of context(which has nothing to do with my opinion, I just think its a good sounding name) or not. But as a solitary comment, for a fan, it didn't seem to be particularly supportive. Which is why I chose to state my opinion to disagree, so that Lulzy could have both perspectives.

Like father, like son... Β I like this particular element. Β It's a nice, neat little package and a good use of that challenge's material.

Every once in a while, you see a challenge and at first think "What the hell am I going to do with this?" Β And then in the back of your mind it goes "Wait, wait, I can... oh hell yes!"

>.> I've had a few moments like that in the past.

hah. Β Yeah, this particular month played surprisingly well into my hand. Β I'd originally planned to do what I'm doing as a side comic, but this saved a little workload and let me introduce the element more pro-actively without resorting to having 2-3 side projects. Β Now I can focus on finishing up with Bug-Off when he gets his next pages in and then do an introduction to Playtime's group once I've got permission from MJ.

So many great angles in this page.Β  That and I love Vergil so much!Β

Wait, so how does the Seraphim part work/what caused it to activate?Β  Did it react to Spiers believing in/contact with Vergil's "unholy" presence or was it something else?

Cool.Β  Thank you for sharing.Β  A great and yet realistic enough explanation in my mind!Β

Although don't feel obligated to tell me spoiler stuff right away if I ask.Β  I can wait and I understand the whole "preventing too many premature spoilers" thing.Β
