-Corbeau looked away, across the endless blue horizon, towards the slight figure on the hill.
"She is, afterall, the jewel of your eye, I suppose."
Reynard looked towards the elf in the distance, and it was a while before he responded.
"Yes..." his brother said softly, "She is my most precious treasure. My death is the only thing that would make me let her go."
Corbeau looked down at the ground below him, a sad smile on his lips. He closed his eyes and seemed to accept something that had been bugging him for some time.
Looking up, he gazed at Reynard with a blank expression.
"Very well. This is the path you have chosen, brother. I know you have not taken the decision lightly." Corbeau's gaze shifted slightly, but his voice remained guarded.
"The next time we meet, one of us will die."
Though the coldness of his brother's tone injured him deeply, Reynard knew that it was to be expected.
Bowing his head by a fraction he said, " So be it."
And with a grim smile, Corbeau flickered out like a candle's flame.
Reynard gazed at the spot where his brother had vanished and allowed himself a moment of peace. Like a man at a funeral, he stood stock still and let the grief he had been holding back take temporary control of his mind.
Minutes passed before he opened his eyes and gradually began to make his way through the tall grass, towards his future.
Towards his precious treasure.

yes, that's a tiara of flower/fruit shaped gems that Angevine is wearing. Well she is an elf, therefor she worships nature and its blessings, such as fruity goodness and flowery stuff.
