Description
Pieces of a few of the bookmarks I'll be selling at conventions this summer - that's why their heads are cropped weirdlyI have 73 bookmarks this year, they have two sides - front has a head and name, backside has a scene from the story and a quote. Therefore, I can't spend long on each portrait, I'm learning to be really efficient

I really like these Kris! I've been watching you post them on instagram too Have you ever tried vector work? I can see these looking even more incredible if you were to do it in vector style.

I'm not sure what you mean - I use vectors for printing, simpler drawings maybe, like that? Or do you mean a different style entirely, like propaganda-ish posters?

They are typically made in Adobe Illustrator like this example s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/2…
They're nice to make too because you can resize the image easily without the resolution being destroyed. So once you do bookmarks you could reuse the same images for posters, postcards, what have you. They are also simple to color once you learn the basics of Illustrator. I hope that makes more sense!

Yeah, I know about it - I use them for the people I work for now, t-shirts, stickers and whatever: )
And I agree, I love styles like that, but its just not all 'me' yet. I've used it a lot for illustration assignments though.. For these, I'd have to be a ton better at picking out their features to simplify them, and I struggle with it xD maybe next year?

Hey that makes sense! I'm still learning vector too but I've seen people do them so well. It'd be a great way to revisit these next year
