Sorry to burst your bubble, but it'll take a lot more than just the fact that it happens to be semi-popular to rek us. Spike clearly liked her as a friend and nothing more. So until any official romantic interest happens between them, which I doubt will happen, we aren't going to get rekt by this any more than we were by SpikexStarlight, which was also semi-popular for a while. Deal with it.

I was joking obviously. I don't really care much for either ship. For one reason and one reason only.
Both of them are too old for Spike. Spike is a just a baby dragon.

That overused argument again? Really? He's not really a literal baby as per physical years. In physical years, I'd say he's likely a young teen like 13 or 14, since Twilight was only a filly when she hatched him. And since dragons have an unusual way of growing/aging, he could potentially be older than he looks. Just saying.

He has the mentality of a child. he isn't old enough to give consent on such things like Sexual interaction which Rarity is capable of doing and if we are talking about physical aspects then look at twilight from the first episode of season 1 to how she looks now. She has grown where as Spike has not and this is over the course of only 1 year since then which season 4 confirmed.

Mentally, he does have some childlike behaviors, but he's also taken on some pretty big challenges and does a lot in general that would be considered a lot for a child, and sometimes acts mature, including being the voice of reason at times. So I'm still going to say his mentality and physical age is about that of a young teen who's probably 13 or 14. Maybe that's not quite old enough to consent, but it's also not terribly far from legal age. And I did say that dragons have a fairly different way of growing/aging, many of which haven't applied to Spike, which is probably why he hasn't grown as much.

Well we don't get enough information from the show to really get an understanding of how dragon aging works. Besides if Spike doesn't end up with either Ember or Rarity ,because of his age then I was right ,but if he does then I won't even care ,because like I said I don't care much for either of the two ships.

Well, it's up to the writers to determine how dragon aging works as per MLP, but from what I've read about it in general, along with things like greed, they tend to grow/age faster if they're raised in the wild and have to face big dilemmas/danger. So like I said, Spike could still be older than he looks. Also, like I said, while he admittedly indeed has some childlike behaviors, he's also had his share of more mature moments and has taken on some big challenges and does a pretty good amount of stuff in general that would be considered an awful lot for a child. So based on those said facts, until we get an official say, I'm still going to place him as being a young teen and older than he looks.

Also it is NEVER stated in the show itself that he is around that age line that you just stated.
What you said is basically just a fan theory at this point that isn't canon t the show.

Any child can try to act mature, but not many do. And likewise, young teens can still have childlike behaviors. It doesn't change the fact that he's taken on a lot of big things that would be considered a lot for a mere child.
And I never said that it was stated in the show that he's that age. It's just a guess based on Twilight being only a filly when she hatched him and the fact that dragons have unusual ways of growing/aging, most of which he hasn't experienced.
And basically anything that anyone says is just a fan theory until we're given any official ages.

This is just my theory/headcanon based on what we know about the series and what I've read about dragons in general. I never said the age was a fact or stated in the show. I have my theory and you have yours. Kthx.

The way somebody acts doesn't change their age. Spike is still betrayed as a child within the show. Also like you said ,dragons have an unusual way of aging so it doesn't really matter if Twilight was a filly when Spike was hatched. Also I don't have a particular theory on his age or who he ends up with in the show if at all since I don't care. Thanks for the reply though.

It may not change their age, but it does make it a possibility that Spike is a young teen, since teens can act childish too. He might be portrayed as a child, but I feel it's more or less artificially so, like he's being held back due to the fact that he hasn't experienced most of the methods in which dragons grow/age. Like he should be older, but isn't, due to not having experienced those things, which makes it feel like he's being kept stuck. It's like he SHOULD be older, due to that and also the fact that Twilight hatched him when she was just a filly, but isn't. So it feels like he's being kept artificially stuck younger than he should be. So for those reasons, that's my theory on what his age is, or at least should be. So that's my theory and you have yours.

I'm personally neutral. I have to say that Spike has the personality and mental structure of a 12 year old who jerks off to Minecraft Let's Plays. Plus, Sparity hasn't appeared much in the show for a long ass time. Maybe it's time for another ship, maybe not.

Meh. When I was a freshmen in high school, one of my classmates had the personality of like a 9 or 10 year old, despite being 14 in reality. It just goes back to what I said before, that even if a child can try to act mature, likewise, a young teen can act childlike. Spike has certainly had some mature moments and taken on a lot of big challenges, as I pointed out, despite admittedly also having some childlike behaviors. I'll certainly agree with you that we need more Sparity. We haven't gotten any truly meaningful interaction between them since Secret of My Excess, with the POSSIBLE exception of Inspiration Manifestation, depending on how you want to interpret that episode. But nevertheless, I'm not going to give up on it just yet.

I also believe Spike is a teenager too since Lauren Faust said the mane 6 are supposed to be child-like young adults. He's older than the CMC who are probably preteens, but not by much.
I like Sparity also and it's kinda sad they haven't hinted the ship lately. I still like shipping Spike with other characters though like Ember and Sweetie Belle though too. There's nothing wrong with shipping a character with more than 1 character.
