Thanks! The rubber band was used as a stamp, no flicking or dragging much. I did roll the band on the pencil sometimes, to make longer lines. Glad you think it's clear enough, my parents and art teacher didn't seem to think so.

# OH MY GOSH THIS IS AMAZING! I love it so much, I can't even really find words to describe it...the colors in the paper and the impressionistic style are just breathtaking. I wish I could be this creative and create art like this!
I'd loveee to see more work like this!

#It's been a while since I've seen stuff like this, and seeing the details you've put into it reminds me how difficult and time consuming this type of art can really be. Saying that, I can see how much work you've put into this and the results show. Fantastic job! ;D

Thanks, it does take a long time. My teacher actually requested I make the contrast greater so it will become clearer but it's technically still in progress.

# I can imagine this took some time to accomplish the result is worth it though, particularly from the distance the effect is awesome when all points seem to melt together and the actual picture arises.

# This is lovely. I can't believe you did something this good with an eraser and rubber band, but you did it nonetheless! Are you considering doing any more work with this technique? I'd love to see it!

the technique is interesting, creative and made stunning effect.
truly lovely... um. painting or drawing? it's with ink&eraser, so I don't know. but it's really awesome work.

Thanks! I don't really know if it counts as a painting or a drawing but I would lean towards drawing because I didn't use brushes or strokes.

Thanks it was fun to do. I bet there are more epic ways to make a stamping picture though, maybe like driving through paint in a tank or using yourself as a paintbrush. That would be really fun

# This is one of the more interesting paintings I have seen in terms of technique. Β The color scheme is an excellent choice and sort of reminds me of ancient Chinese painting (my mind thinks in strange ways XD ). Β I will note that it's not until I read the other comments that I actually saw the cat. Β I'm still not exactly sure what it's a painting of, but it's awesome

LUMIY4 In reply to RationalParadox [2013-10-06 04:49:25 +0000 UTC]
I see. I'm going to continue painting it because my teacher said that the contrast between inside and outside is too low, so maybe when the inside part is darker and the cat is silhouetted it will be clearer. I know what it is because I've been staring at it for hours but lots of people weren't quite sure in person and online. It's very different in terms of medium but it is fun. Thanks for the feedback.

This work really hit my eye, it's impressive! Beautiful techinque and effect- and the sepia tone makes it look somewhat nostalgic, as an old print
I didn't notice the cat right away, it feels like my eyes could wander in the picture freely for much time!

I like cats because they can sit on you without crushing you. My grandpa's dog weighs 40 pounds and thinks it's a good idea to sit on people when he's scared.

Our cats always end up getting fat so it's still not very comfortable. And they never came to sit on my lap anyways ;^;

# This my friend, looks amazing.
I really can't believe that you made this the way you did. I really like pictures like this, because they blend together, but at the same time you can still tell what they are. I'm rambling like an airhead, sorry. xD
May i ask, though, was this hard to make? It looks like you put a lot of effort into it, i doubt i would have had the patience.

It was different from what I usually do but I practiced all week to get it like this. It does take a long time but it's actually really hard to "ruin" by adding too much paint.
