A lot of people are hating on the Public Domain for stupid reasons, mostly because They think Disney or any other company will lose rights and characters will leave the company when that's not true. And also because of those horror movies.

While horror movies based on Children's properties are terrible, that doesn't mean everyone is gonna make one just because a character falls out of copyright, There will be family friendly adaptations too.

The Public Domain is supposed to be a place where people can freely be creative without copyright holders sueing them, this is just wrong and People wanting a longer copyright extension is just bullshit!

Disney STILL owns the Modern versions of Mickey, Pooh, Tigger, and Bambi. Only the 1928 version and book versions are out of copyright and they have trademarks on them until those versions expire too. Just because Characters enter public domain doesn't mean they are losing the rights to them. Disney always adapted from the public domain too like Cinderella and Snow White, so why can't people adapt from them too? Also not everyone is gonna make a terrible horror adaptation. There is a Family-Friendly animated Pooh movie from Baboon Animation coming out this year, and a Steamboat Willie Game is coming to steam (not horror.)
