Description A pair of nurse sharks, basking in the shallows. When the tides shift, they will follow, as is their duty, their instinct. Until then, the sunbeams are warm and the water is clear; there is time to rest. It is is not often that they have a moment together.

A submission to the OFF-WHITE contest hosted by =tanathe and *akreon .

My choices, to clarify, are nurse sharks, and they defend the tides of the ocean. Eb, the black shark, is responsible for the tide going out, and the dropping of the water level. Flow is the white shark, who brings the tides in again, lifting the water level.

I like to imagine it as the tides following their paths across the oceans. When the tide is high at one side of the ocean, it has drained from the other, and so they simply cross back and forth, taking each other's places along the coasts.

And so, here they are, with them crossing paths on their way in opposite directions. A brush of bodies to say hello, and they continue on. The sunbeams appear in the shallows, summoned by the dropping tide ahead of Eb, and the darker waters are from the rising tides that Flow summons in.

(After Discovery Channel's "Shark Week", I couldn't help myself. Cx)
