The more I look at it the more I like it! I was just thinking that for the smoke, either you could make it curl, like it does when there's no wind, or make the wisps of smoke horizontal instead of verticle? I dunno... *shrug*

Wow thats a nice tree and cool palette, the clouds are cool as well. I wouldnt recognize the smoke as smoke if you didnt say it. But ground and tree kick ass.

I like it, I like how there seems to be air comeing out of the cracks in the sand., Perhaphs thats not how you intended it to look, but that is how it looks to me. a Sence of life to an otherwise dead tree.

I like your atention to detail on the visual aspect of distance. The birds on the tree are smaller then the bird in the foreground.

My only suggestion would be to add more light to the tops of the roots, they look a bit flat, but this light source is tricky.
The point of light should be on the left side of the left root, down the middle of the middle root, and a bit in the middle of the root on the right.
