We saw Detective Pikachu like two weeks ago, I think and I unironically loved it. I know it's not the best movie when it comes to script, dialogues and stuff like that, but it managed to make me smile and cry of joy, for soem stupid reason. There was something so magical about seeing these fantasy creature running in the real world. It was like one giant childhood nostalgia trip, but it didn't feel patronizing. They expected us to know stuff about this world and didn't explain everything. I don't remember the last time the movie made me so happy. I guess it was that feeling of being child again and for a single moment forget about the real world and it's constant bullshit. I still don't understand how they managed to make movie adaptation that doesn't make me cringe like crazy, but they somehow did it. I am so thankful this movie exists, even for such small reasons.
