I feel something is missing from this picture. It was half vectored and left on my desktop for aages. Then I was half way through this and then discovered that amazing alt button on my keyboard and then came the wonders of masking layers... how did I miss this before!?!?!?! Oh, and Celestia will be next. Luna is awesome but I can't deny that Celestia is one of my favourite characters also... Gaaaahh or maybe, both I dunno.

I had sometimes circled around that idea but not enough to have it drawn. And your execution is superb, with subtle shading and great moonlight effects.
The ceremonial sword briefly touching the mare, the moon pendant adding to the seriousness of the moment and underlining that it is the night that accepts the recruit. The mare, a batpony in full armour, an archer taking a vow to protect at all costs. The princess in ceremonial dress, enlisting another worthy one to the Night Guard, creating a bond that shall not be broken, aided by the mysticism coming from the eternal fire that burns on her sides. This is a duty that will last a lifetime, lifetime of the nation's enemies or the mare herself, whichever ends first. And as she bows her head to take the weight of her deed onto her shoulders and carry it forever with her wings, the words engraved in the window appear in front of her as the moon continues its nightly route. Only the worthy are allowed to serve, only in the light of the full moon they start their shift. This is why they are the knights.

Aw, Thank you so much <3 and I know I've been very behind with stuff due to a start of a very blugghh 2015. If you mean my Hollow Shades comic it will be finished VERY soon within the next day or so. Just gotta shade and dialogue stuffs :3 and it'll be two pages to make up for the wait ^^
