I have been teaching myself the patience of backgrounds in Flash. I first of all was going to use Photoshop but it didn't look right so started over. I got to this part of my 'Catch a Falling Star' animation and could not resist to share the adowable Woona, regardless to whether it's finished or not!

this animation short is so beautiful. the movement and dynamic is incredible. its so sweet as early disney animations. kudos to you 
and when you make the full animatic is this style... that would be just wow. this wouldnt only make my day. this would at least make my week or month ^^
the things you can add would be a shadow under woona and some extra "in betweens" to smooth some spots out.
but I really looking forward to see more of this

Yeah, as mentioned in the title it is still a WIP, I do intend to add shadows and yeah possibly the few more inbetweens just to smooth it a little more ^^ Some parts might be tricky though because I started this without intending I'd get this far thus some of the layers and symbols are a bit jumbled up. XD

I do aim to go professionally one day to be either a storyboard artist/ animator... and violinist. Where I live, the only option to do an animation course would be university and I currently can't do that due to my health so I'm just teaching myself as I go, building up a portfolio and seeing where it can lead. ^^ I am glad it looks like I know what I am doing though! Because I must admit, half the time I am experimenting XD
How about you? Your 3D art is incredible! I once tried using Blender and 3DS Max but did NOT get along with it too well XDD

oh so you are a DIY type ^^ like me lol I learn my 3D stuff on my own as well. or the animating. but I cant draw.
I respect the drawn works way more than 3D animations. because there is a lot more work in them. once I finish a
3D thingy or animation template, the only thing I have to do is playing around with sliders and dragging things around
and watch it instantly. and tweaking is way easier. just some keys changing here and there and it is done. but when you
have to draw everything ... this takes a lot more. I love your comic. and I love the animation. you are such a great artist.

Oooh wow! And don't be modest, 3D art is still just as skillful and creative, bringing a beautiful result at the end! Just as you respect drawn works, I too respect 3D art. I don't really think that it takes more work to draw each frame than it does with 3D art. Sure it might take longer and might take patience to learn it all, but in the end, making anything to look nice in drawn animation would take just as long as learning and making it look lovely in 3D. No doubt with any sort of art, that's the sort of effort it takes to create it. <3 I consider that a decent quality of animation is what matters most to make it appealing (something I'm still learning). And with your animations, they're smooth and what I consider as amazing quality regardless to what button you pressed or how easy it was. And your 3D art, well, I admire your knowledge to even start the 3D program! In the end, 2D work would probably take the same time as 3D. I bet that Snow White took just as much effort and time to make as Frozen! (lol I couldn't help but type that up in a Celestia's voice; I type waaay too much XDD)

thank you so much that you like what I do
and well. I am happy if I am able to make some people happy with my animations
and other submissions. it is a hobby for my after all. I have fun creating 3D stuff XD
but sometimes I wish that I would have more time to learn how to draw to create
beautiful pictures or cool comics. so many storys in my head which want to be told.
but I cant make so long animations XD and I'd need a ton of voice actors for that XD
at the moment I am working on a pointy pony animation though. something random.
no big story behind it lol. 2D pointies in a 3D environment. I curious how this will look
like in the end. maybe a bit like the mobile game "fallout shelter" lol. we will see.
and I bet when you finish your sweet animation, you will get a lot of attention ^^

Hehe well, good luck for your future stuff! I'll be looking forward to it! And you should totally try pitching your story ideas too, preferably to comic artists. I see a lot of comic people around up for collab work ^^
