ABOUT THE CHARACTER:
It's kind of old news but I made my own sonic version of Maria. (if that makes sense because she's already a Sonic character...)
I won't go into depth for her backstory, since I prefer to show and not tell. But I will say that my Maria is super nice, helpful and giving, which is the complete opposite of my character Elizabeth who tends to be blunt and selfish: lunarmew.deviantart.com/art/Wh…
Maria the lamb is a freelance detective. But she works as a part-time waitress at a cafe with Elizabeth. That cafe is a hub for canon Sonic characters and Sonic Fancharacters/OCs to buy food, drinks, and meet up with other FCs and OCs.

Ahhhh, this is still one of my most favourite designs from you! A Lamb Maria is just so perfect, I love her so much, haha. I do enjoy how you've made her a character of your own and given her an original spin. The render here of her is especially good, it's good to get a clearer look at her details and colour scheme, she looks very streamlined! Great work overall!

I don't know why, but Maria being an anthropomorphic being makes her a much more, believable character than the human counterpart.

I think it's because human characters look out of place in Sonic, minus Eggman but because he has an exaggerated design.
Now that I remember, I used to think when I was little that Maria looked like a barbie doll in SA2. Probably because of the 3D model.

I did it because I was a big fan of her work growing up. But there were too many Maria FCs that were hedgehogs so I gave mine a different species.
Also I thought making a story based on Sonic Fandom trends was a nice concept. So I was planing on drawing my version of Maria more because she would fit the idea. Kind of like One Punch Man but with Sonic FCs/OCs.
