You know, because I needed to post something. It's the law of maintaining an account and not abandoning it to obscurity.Anyway remember this?
Zelda Valkyrie Inspired Sketch
Well this is the final version of her design. Kind of. It isn't finished yet but I have a better idea of what to do with my version of Zelda for my comic. I actually drew and colored this fairly quickly since I messed around with Zelda character designs during my spare time. It's just that fan art isn't a priority for me right now so I rarely post it, which sucks. I promise I will work on the details for the dress later. It just needs some clean up but the overall design is something I am satisfied with. (finally...)
By the way, this is for a comic I always wanted to work on for practicing storytelling. Kind of.
It started out as a dumb fan crossover with fan character thing for myself because everyone in the early 2000's did and I wanted to do that too and stuff. I never went through with it because of the convoluted story. I can't come up with ideas worth a darn, sorry. XD
Then a little over a year ago it occurred to me to try to approach the concept differently. If it's going to be crap I should make it crap with a point. I don't take my characters seriously so I guess I can make a fan comic centered around that...? I think? I was thinking of making the comic based on how shit works in the Zelda lore. Why does money grow on grass? How come every time a new race in each game is introduced some of them do not come back in other installments and are subjected to fan theories because the NPC's never mention them? How come Link can carry extra gear like nothing but the items are heavy when taken out.
What if Hyrule didn't have any records of past events because of a fire a century ago in the comic and the concept involves explaining all of this nonsense? Or lack of explanation which allows introduction of new story ideas?
I wanted to do a deconstruction of fan theories in the form of a lighthearted comic, for the most part. Something interesting but not super serious. I think this concept also allows me to make 5-10 pages in the form of small stories rather than something done chapter for chapter. That way I have time for it because it isn't necessarily heavily invested in. I also wanted to keep the crossover idea. Years ago it was a concept I wanted to force in because, why the hell not. However, a better idea is to justify the crossover through Easter Eggs found in the Zelda video games and deconstruct those too. This lets me experiment much easier than just, "I am just throwing random crap in because obligatory crossover, yaaaaay!" In fairness, it is still possible to do that but I am not a good storyteller so I am better off with a guide. XD
I am still working out story ideas but if I start out vague with the canon culture of the comic then I can always work out other details without the heavy investment that is normally spent on my job and school work.
Or the entire comic might be a failure. Meh. Shit won't get done if I worry about what others thing. If it works or fails at least it was done.

I really like your design of Zelda, and that sounds like a very fantastic idea ! I'd like to see your ideas on why those things happen/occur throughout the series in webcomic form.

Thank you! It's a fan comic so it isn't a priority but I intend to update on this as frequent as I can.

Thank you! I plan to continue to improve on it but this is roughly how her final design will look like.
