So hot glue melts the shit out of the insulation foam but you use a little bit of it as a hold during assembly? How does that work?

question about the notches- are the sides of them slanted? because from some angles they look straight but from others they look slanted slightly and im not sure which it is

So I'm trying to make these obviously for my cosplay, and I was just wondering, what are the measurements for the notches? Like, in between each one along the base and at the top? If you don't mind me asking. It's just I'm not very good at just doing these things by guessing! Thanks!

Are you talking about those bottom gear parts? If so, the circumference of a vinyl doesn't really allow for perfectly even notches. You will have one that is slightly smaller, but you can hide this! When you're drawing your pattern (on paper first) measure like, 1, 1 1/2, 2 or even 3 inch spaces between each notch, and play around with it to your liking. A lot of people stylize that part differently.

I should probably mention it's a good idea to seal these things. With what I don't know. There's plenty of prop makers around who would know though. Reason being, I smoked these pretty hard while drunk and they definitely chip a lot.
