Name: Shadow KaiAffiliation: Decepticon
Gender: Femme (Female)
Beast Mode: lunashewolf.deviantart.com/art…
Species: Techno Organic Cybertronian
Weapons: Talons, Fire (pyrokinesis and breath), Smoke, and Stealth.
Bio:
Originally Kai was a being bent on revenge. Those she had trusted, those she put her faith in, and the very things she stood for betrayed her. Those things had burned her and she was going to burn them all back! Indeed she did for quite some time. Those that shipped her off for her accursed Techno Organic state were hunted down. Her mad laughter twisting through the smoke and ashes born from her vengeance. Though as those responsible for her treatment dwindled so did her anger. Shadow Kai was forced to start thinking. Forced to start looking around at the world she found herself in now instead of fixating on the world she had been cast from. Both sides, Con or Bot, were corrupt. The Cons were just more open about the corruption, which Kai could admire to a degree. As forces left Cybertron and the Cons went adrift in space Shadow Kai was taken away from battle.
She was left with more time to think. What happened to her was wrong, she was denied justice, the justice that her former Autobot allies stood for. Yet, most Bots she encountered didn't know what was happening within. Didn't see the rotting system that they blinded defended. Shadow Kai still loathed her enemy, but she wondered how many would change sides. How many would rise up if they knew the truth? How many would turn their backs on this justice if they uncovered what lay below the surface? So, Kai made a new pledge. Yes, she would follow the commands of her leaders, but now there was more to it. Kai was going to make any bot she could ask questions. Why had this all started? What sparked the war? And much more. These questions were things so few asked, so few thought about, because it was all to easy to mark someone as 'the bad guy'.
However, as Kai had come to appreciate, in war there is no good or bad...just winners and losers. The winners would become the heroes with the passage of time and enough 'convincing', but in the end everyone has dirty hands at the end of the battle. And Kai was going to make sure that the self-proclaimed 'heroes' the Autobots were going to have this whispering through their minds...provided they live long enough to get back to their comrades.
Other:
- Only after reading the "More Than Meets The Eye" Comic did I discover Turbo Foxes/Spark Eaters, this ends up making Kai even more scary...after all who wants to tangle with what appears to be a great fire breathing spark eater?
- Her flames are the same colors as her eyes.
- Her tail is prehensile.
- Why questions? Kai doesn't want potential allies to die and questions can lead to chaos...which makes the enemy easier to take care of.
- Shadow Kai's concept was born based on the interaction between Black Arachnia and Optimus Prime in Transformers Animated (the Halloween episode). The idea that the Autobots, the good guys, would do something so awful to their own....yeah Kai was born on that and evolved from it.

DAAAAAAAAANG! That's a cool design! I thought it was an evil Kamala at first, heh heh.
Very cool story for this character. TF: Animated did a good job of painting the Autobot faction with a little more gray than we're used to seeing and any franchise built upon an "Us vs Them" duality always invites this kind of thinking (I was actually able to write a short story about this for a school assignment once). I really like the idea of Kai trying to make her own colleagues question their society in a war that makes the Cold War look open-minded; even if her decision initially came from a place of anger, it shows that she's become wise in her misery.
I also like how you wrote out the portion of her seeking revenge, running out of targets and having to move on from life afterwards. Revenge stories so rarely ever tell you what happens next and I've had a lot of long, unsettling thinks myself. That was a neat part and, with a bit of rewording, could make for good opening narration on a story.
I don't know what a Spark Eater or Turbo Fox are, but you make them look cool in Kai's two forms and I'm sure that an anti-authority question-raiser like her would enjoy taking the form of something many Cybertronians consider opposed to their way of life (kinda like how some people call themselves Satanists just to rebel against societal norms).
The only thing I think you might be able to do better is Kai's affiliation. It sounds like she started off as an Autobot and that her main reason for seeking revenge and spreading the truth about the war is because the justice she fought for is not as pure as she thought (or at least, not what Autobot High Command is truly interested in). Even though she killed a bunch of her former comrades, she seems like she's still an Autobot at heart/spark and wants Cybertron to strive for something better than just an endless war and Us-vs-Them politics. I think she should probably be an Autobot, just one that forged a lot of her documents and buried her past so that her comrades won't know who she really is. The Decepticons may be more upfront about their treachery, but I think she still has a better conscience than they do...It may even be a fun story for her to try to infiltrate/join the Decepticons, only to find out that as bad and brutal as she is, they're worse (may or may not require toning down some of the brutality she used in her quest for vengeance; maybe make her similar to Beatrix from Kill Bill: determined and violent, but still respectful of life and capable of mourning an enemy who wasn't truly that bad).
PS- Is her Techno Organic nature a reference to Beast Machines?

Thank you and evil Kamala, there's a thought XD
That's what I liked about tfa, for as bright, happy, and silly it could be there were just the moments of WHAT?! What happened to Black Archna, how she would have been treated. What happened to poor Wasp!
I only just found out about the spark eater/turbo foxes, Kai doesn't eat sparks but she uses the fear her beast mode causes to her advantage.
Kai's was originally bot and, she will deny it till she scorches someone into the ground, she still has a deep sense of right and wrong along with a moral code. She wants her former comrades to see the lies and rise up against the lies, the only problem is the only side doing that (even if it is only remotely so) is the cons. So her being a bot just doesn't fit and...she's still too bitter to let the past go. Shadow Kai has come a long way, but she can't look at her old symbol without some of those old feelings boiling to the surface.
The techno organic is actually what Black Arachna refers to herself in TFA, but it undoubtedly comes from Beast Machines...the travesty that that show was.
