Garret: Looks up to him, finding his strength and bravery very admirable. She truly values their friendship, as he was one of the only Wynlings to understand and treat her kindly at the Nook. She worries for him and his inability to feel pain, though she knows he’s one of the most capable gros she ever met. She was sad when he left to start spite hunter training, and hopes that they’ll be able to meet again one day.

She turned up at the Nook one day when someone found her collapsed near the edge of the forest, and has lived there ever since. Most assume she was abused and abandoned, though that couldn’t be further from the truth. Not that she bothers to correct them, as she refuses to talk about her past. In reality, she is the orphan of two loving and dedicated parents killed in a freak accident.

The Cosmos family was a well-off family hailing from the Trevuu district in Antova. Heather and Quince Cosmos moved away from the kingdom to study the environment in a much more rural area, choosing a house in the forest outside the small town of Wynsiph. They were mainly studying the plants and animals in the area, and intended on returning to Antova after gathering a sufficient amount of data. They had one wynling together, a little female with her mother’s colors and her father’s eyes. Following the Cosmos tradition of naming their children after flowers, Wisteria was their pride and joy. She was a playful and sweet wynling who shared her parents’ love of nature, and was always delighted to help in the greenhouse or study the various forest animals and bugs.

Having both received advanced education, Heather and Quince homeschooled Wisteria together to the best of their abilities. She was very fond of books, and quickly gained fast reading skills and a large vocabulary. They were a loving and happy family, safe from the spites and creatures of the forest inside the walls of their home.

However, Wisty’s life changed forever when the family went out to watch and take notes of a large group of butterflies emerging from their chrysali. Things were going just as planned until a large, monstrous creature leapt out from the undergrowth. It was no spite, just a large, feral beast. It attacked Quince first, and he was able to distract it long enough for Heather to pick up Wisteria and dash back towards the house. They didn’t get very far however.

In a desperate attempt to save their daughter, Heather was able to hide Wisteria in a burrow covered with ferns. She had just turned to start running again when the beast pounced on her. It turned back to stare at the little wynling frozen in terror in the burrow, eyes glowing red, mouth and matted fur soaked in blood. It seemed to lose interest in her, though, and just snorted before walking off. Wisteria huddled in the back of the burrow, sobbing for a long time until she was sure the monster was gone.

Heading towards the town her parents used to talk about and get supplies from, she ran and ran until she got to the edge of the town, right where the trees ended. She collapsed, traumatized, exhausted and bleeding from countless cuts from running through the undergrowth. She was found by a passerby and promptly brought to Doctor F, and then to the Nook. They were never able to get a story out of her, and just had to take their best guess.

The Nook was a big change for her, and the crowded, loud building didn’t help with her anxiety. She got bullied often, though didn’t make any attempt to fight back. She was saved by a grey male wynling one day, which started off her friendship with Garret. She found his calm, steadfast nature comforting, and bullies would leave her alone when she was with him. Though she didn’t know it at first, it was him who bought her Calypso in hopes that the runeboo would soothe her anxiety. He was the only one she opened up to, and they shared many personal memories with each other. She was deeply saddened when he left the Nook to start his spite hunter training.

Her time with Garret and helped her heal somewhat, though that progress was wrecked when the deelagun attack and plague. She once again shut down, more fearful and silent than ever before. She only had Calypso to keep her company, and was left to mourn the lost lives of countless nooklings she’d seen every day since she’d arrived, as well as not knowing the fate of her dear friend Garret.

Wisteria is a very passive and gentle wyngro, happy to melt into the background and keep to herself. She's very soft-spoken, and so quiet many forget she's even there. She's managed to come out of her shell a bit since when she was a wynling, though is still very shy and skittish, doing her best to avoid situations that put her in the spotlight. She hates violence, and will try to run and hide the second conflict starts. She's easily startled, and will often think about something that unnerved her for hours, even days. Panic attacks are still relatively common, especially when in situations she dislikes or are stressful. She doesn't like being touched, and will almost always flinch or pull away unless it's someone she's close to. She loves reading and everything that as to do with nature, and has an amazing knowledge of plants and animals. Once you manage to get past her timid exterior, you'll find one of the sweetest and most gentle souls around. Her progress has largely been thanks to her faithful runeboo, Calypso, whom she received as a gift from a friend. Calypso is extremely protective of her owner, and the two are rarely seen apart. The runeboo helps give her confidence in social situations, and has become quite skilled in helping calm Wisteria's anxiety and helping her recover from panic attacks.
