🌸It's Transgender Day of Visibility!🌸
We are here, we are valid! I mean no harm, but I wanted to ask for support for fellow transgender people you might know. They look just like normal people, they are kind and wonderful souls, but those who went through possibly the hardest experience a person could endure - having to perceive the world with a mentality of another gender, different from their body and social expectation. Bear in mind, a lot of them struggle with strongest dysphoria caused by this, which drives them not to differ, look normal by their identity and blend seamlessly into society. Sometimes it's not fully possible, but we try our best. But it doesn't mean we should hide in curtains, suppress our feelings and struggle alone, trans people need all the help they could take. They should be recognized and they should be accepted as new members of society in their desired gender, not oppressed by law and people's believes.
You can help by learning what causes the birth of trans person and how differently they feel the world in childhood
By studying genders and that transsexuality is not an identity by itself, instead it just states the misalignment between brain's gender and body's sex.
By understand the difference between gender identity, gender expression, biological gender and sexual orientation
By studying LGBTQ+ movements and differences between them, learning trans terminology to understand them better
By learning that transsexuality is not based on sexual orientation, fetishization, sexual practices. Trans people may also be asexual
By understanding that there are more identities to one person: ethnicity, race, nationality, social status, sexual orientation, religious beliefs
By treating the person by their identity, and not by biological sex, protecting their secret if they choose to stay safe and not to spread information about themselves.
By making sure that everything that rightfully belongs to common woman is also accessible to transwomen, and helping them, if this is not the case.
I wanted to express my love and care for all fellow transgender people out there, especially given the quaranitne times, it's most difficult to visit your appointments, get HRT and freely express yourselves in places where you wanted to coming out, some of others are forced to live clotheted with unsupporting people. I feel you and wish your situation soon will change! You are all valid!
For all non-trans people, I wanted to ask to express your love and support to your trans friends, comfort them as they need it the most now. Protect them from transphobic jokes and dysphoria. Trans people deserve recognition in this society, MTF, FTM and non-binary. Everyone should be treated equally in this world, no matter their identity so our world could become a better place!
