This started out as a doodle of Rose/Kate Winslet (one of my favorite actress'Now before you go and say "I hated that movie!", I could give two shits. When I was in 6th grade, I was in love with this movie. I'm almost asshamed to say, I illustrated a whole comic of the movie. Cept....it was with anthro dogs (WTF?)
So yeah.. there's flaws, but that's okay, I hope you enjoy it anyways.
EDIT:Adjusted her hair as per pointing out a weird kind of denaturation that occurred sometime between turning this into a JPG. (thank you). Also messed around with her nose and eyes- made the nose a bit smaller and fixed something that was bothering me in the left eye. UP- Also changed the hair color as suggested.
Thanks to prior for helping me fix some of the production flaws!

This version by Cameron was the best in getting details mostly correct, and the dramatic story was good as well (though I did like the fictional one in the 1953 TITANIC with Clifton Webb and Barbara Stanwyck, in it's ironic undercutting of Webb's social proprieties but his pulling himself together at the end). I think the problem of the Cameron version is that it is too detailed (ironically enough) so he can give us a true idea of what travelling on that great ship was like. One gets bogged down in them. For my money, hands down, the best one was A NIGHT TO REMEMBER with Kenneth More, Laurence Naismith, and Honor Blackman. It concentrated on the facts behind the disaster and the final rescue. The Californian fiasco was demonstrated, as was the counterpoint of Captain Rostron's rescue with the Carpathia. It kept the audience attention and (for 1958) the special effects were excellent.
Best Titanic film that was never made: Alfred Hitchcock's consideration for the story as a film in the early 1940s. Hitch even had a funny conclusion (given his sense of humor) which he mentioned in the book HITCHCOCK: TRUFAULD). Except for that misplaced bit of humor it might have been terrific.
Worst one: Titanic (1943: UFA) - the Nazi version actually has some points going for it (the special effects are good). Ironically the later sunk (with heavy loss of life) Cap Arcona doubled for the Titanic in the film. The bad part is the Nazi propaganda, here against the British aristocracy and business elite (Astor, who was American, is Lord Astor - who was John Jacob's cousin William Waldorf, and was not a Lord - his son became a Viscount; Ismay is smashed beyond recognition as a selfish tycoon). The film ends even with an anti-Semitic dig about how after the Jews the British aristocracy are the worst enemies of the Reich.

I was about 6 years old when the movie came out so I was way too young to see it. But I did see clips of it when they showed it on the 1998 Oscar awards on TV I was pretty impressed by it, that I studied about the history and the sinking of the Titanic and that made me so desperate to see it. But sadly, I never saw it at all during my childhood because of my parents
By the time I was a senior in high school, I told one of my best friends that I had never ever seen the film that he was in complete shock that he let me borrow his copy of the VHS movie and I watched it and cried a tiny bit at the end.
But through it all, I loved it from the beginning to the end. And not only did I like the love parts of the movie, but I also loved how the movie was so beautifully made at the time and the other characters that were actual real people. Especially Molly Brown. She made me laugh so hard

I saw this movie in 9th grade and fell in love with it. My husband refuses to buy the DVD for me now...I'm 27 and still love this movie. He hates DiCaprio and won't buy any of his movies. I think he's a fabulous actor and that my husband is just jealous. Bleh.

Well, it's not your fault, I hold the opinion that the company took the aspects of that movie and ran it into the ground, it's a shame really.
Great job on the picture! ^__^

..."I'm almost asshamed to say, I illustrated a whole comic of the movie. Cept....it was with anthro dogs (WTF?)"
WOW. I did the same thing with Star Wars. All three of them. Except more of a condensed version, plus my poor early-elementary style humor, such as Luke woke up covered in fleas. u_u

I love this. She looks bad ass enough to be a rebel, but her clothes show there's a soft, romantic core in there too. The clothes have a very realistic feeling to then, almost perfect! Only thing I can complain about is the sea...but that's because I'm a Marine Biologist and to me it should always have a protagonist role I understand what you meant, thought, putting the sea with less detail: makes us focus on the character herself. Very elegant piece, sweety. MOar, please!!

hummm..tricky question. Painting water is quite hard. Maybe more shadow to give a depth feeling? One of the best waves tut I know is this one: [link] Something like [link] can be a good reference, see the contrast between the waves there? And..well, if you're in the middle of the ocean, the blue will be uniform, since brighther blue means less depth between the water surface and the bottom of the sea
