Description
ETA!!!!!! hey, folks--where in the heck is all this traffic coming from? I'm not complaining, mind you, just really damned curious. I don't normally get this many hits!Materials: Fox tails, deerskin
Total length: 28"
Belt length: 84"
Description: Here's another piece from the fashion show I did in July; I've made ninetails sets before, but I had Kylie, a wonderful fox lady, as one of my models, and she was the perfect reason to make another set. The base and belt are red-brown deerskin, while the tails are all wild red fox tails. I think this is the nicest set of these I've made; they create a lovely shape, and would be a wonderful addition to a kitsune costume!
Price: $175

The tails are all furrier scrap that would otherwise be thrown into an incinerator or landfill since they don't use them much for garments. It's why I do the spiritual purification that I do on all my art, and why part of the money goes to nonprofits that benefit wildlife and their habitats.

These are very beautiful- unfortunately it sold- otherwise I would have snatched those right up! I'm doing a Ninetails cosplay, a Steampunk version and using real tails instead of fake ones- I have 5 tails that "work" right now, but I'm looking for 4 more good fox/coyote tails. Great job.

Everything I work with is real; it is a part of my spiritual path as well as my art. You can read more here: [link]
In addition, I donate part of the money I make to nonprofit groups that benefit wildlife and their habitats. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have

People don't generally eat foxes, though IIRC the carcasses end up as animal feed.

Well, to be pedantic, about nine foxes died so that a subsistence hunter could have enough money to pay for food last winter.

Animals are rarely killed just for their fur, let alone just for their tails... Furs usually always a by-product. These animals most likely died for population control which is beneficial to both humans and animals. And instead of wasting the fur they were turned into something to be admired for years.

My goodness, that has got to be a lot of weight on the bladder. xD Very nice, though.

Actually, it's quite lightweight for its size; there's no bone in the tails which takes out most of the weight, and deerskin doesn't weigh much either. Thank you

It's better to use all of the fox if you kill it then waste a part of it. It's life, things get killed. Before we had blankets we used animal skins as our blankets. It's just the cycle of life, I don't like the idea of stuffing animals but I see no reason why you can't wear, and enjoy what the animals have given to use by nature, But that's just my view.

I'm against killing any animal for any reason (unless it needs euthanizing if it's in pain or will have a terrible quality of life) as I'm a strict vegetarian. I don't have leather in my house or anything like that and I don't see the appeal of wearing something dead. Just seems cruel and gross.

I'm a highly anti-meat myself for different reasons though (it makes me feel sick). I believe as long as it isn't done in huge killing spree's it's fine, everything dies someday. And I personally own a rabbit fur pouch from a Native American fair thing (forgot the word for it). I see nothing wrong with killing things as long as it's in a humane way. I'm working at a deer cutting shop this September. If there isn't animal control (by killing or trapping) the population will go out of control Even more so with deer, and then wolves who hunt deer and then rabbits and foxes because they aren't getting hunted by the wolves as much and so on. There needs to be an order, or else the chain will brake. Doesn't mean you have to eat the meet, you could sell it yada yada. (Only meat I really eat is chicken and fish so it's not like I'm eating deer meat just cause I work at a cutting shop).
