Some may think that this is a consequence of building in the rain, but it isn't entirely. If you had waited until after the rain, and if the absence of whatever you added since the storm started meant that the house didn't collapse during the storm, it wouldn't change the fact that the foundation is insufficient and wasn't going to get any better. It would be nice if it had collapsed while you weren't here, but failing that it's better that it collapsed now rather than after you had built more house to fall down.

Er kennt sich sehr gut aus, allerdings hatte er nicht mit einem Erdrutsch aufgrund starker Regengüsse gerechnet, was ihm gerade zum Verhängnis zu werden scheint... Ohje..

Yeah he is stubborn, but I doubt that he noticed the creaking sounds early enough to react and was too shocked when he finally did notice what's happening

fair enough. The rain probably has a lot to do with drowning out the sound, and it's simply dramatic irony that the audience knows what's going on before the characters do.
