I don't know where I got the idea, but I can't ship France with anyone but Joan of Arc. I'm convinced she was his true love. I honestly have no idea where I developed that conviction, but I still love it.

I think also everyone else wouldn't be able to take a relationship with France seriously. Like, if it was me, I'd automatically assume he was just in it for the sex unless he'd had to try really, really, reeeeeally hard (which, if it was me, he wouldn't, because I've never had a guy look at me twice).
But I think Joan would lead him on enough of a chase that he'd learn how to take love seriously.
And also that's why he's so frivolous with his romantic gestures, because Joan is dead now so why the hell not?
