I would have NEVER EVER imagined a black Griffin. This is brilliant in a way.

Yes they usually have a lion's hindquarters, but this is suppose to be a raven/panther variation. an oddball kind of.

Oh that's a pretty good rendition of the oft mentioned but rarely illustrated griffon power armor!
I too had pictured it being something similar to a segmented, lamellar set with open legs and head.
