Description

Entire readme/instructions:

---------------------------------------- MOONBASE UNIFORM DS TEXTURING, V1 --------------------------------------------

A free 3D model texturing mod by Luke Turner (AKA Luqu, Luqu Trnr, Lukon100, Volcanoface, Doubt45, Illuwuz).

Note: If I revise this texturing mod and re-issue it, I will increment the “V1” to “V2” and so on.

REQUIRED OTHER DOWNLOADS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

S.H.A.D.O. Uniforms for V4, by JoEtzold: www.sharecg.com/v/42781/

And then to get the version 2 of the bodysuit that fixes some kind of poke-through problem, you also need:

S.H.A.D.O. Uniforms V4 - Addon, by JoEtzold: sharecg.com/v/43105/

It is unclear to me whether the version 2 bodysuit in the addon download will work without the stuff from the regular download.
If you ever find out, let me know.

Optional for fitting to Genesis 3:

Wear Them All - Autofitting Clones and Clothing Smoothers for Genesis 3 Female(s),

A different product may be needed for fitting to Genesis 1, 2, or 8.

SHORTCOMINGS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This 3D texturing mod ain’t perfect. It’s development reflects my current beginner’s skill level with texturing.

I was lazy and only bothered to do texturing for the two main fabrics, the "ribbed" wool and the shiny silver leather.
So I'm only going to cover them here.
Many of the little details like seam hems, lacing, eyelets and buckles you can figure out for yourself.

ABOUT JOE ETZOLD'S MOONBASE BODYSUIT AND BOOTS -----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Daz Studio Content Manager path to the uniform bodysuit is:

    Poser Formats > My DAZ 3D Library > Figures > SciFi > ShadoUniform > MB-BodySuit2

The Daz Studio Content Manager path to the uniform boots is:

    Poser Formats > My DAZ 3D Library > Figures > SciFi > ShadoUniform > MB-Boots

The Daz Studio Content Manager path to the uniform tool-belt is:

    Poser Formats > My DAZ 3D Library > Figures > SciFi > ShadoUniform > MB-ToolBelt

Although made for Victoria 4, these items can be fitted to Genesis figures by means of products like this one I use for Genesis 3:
Wear Them All - Autofitting Clones and Clothing Smoothers for Genesis 3 Female(s),
by valzheimer: www.daz3d.com/wear-them-all-au…

After putting the uniform on my G3F character,
I find that the tool-belt and boots need some adjustment to get rid of some poke-through problems.
The tool-belt has a morph called "Fit over tops" that I set at 0.50.
The boots have a morph called "Bulk" that I set at 0.53.

Posing your character may require adjusting these morphs even more. Who knows?

INSTALLATION ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unzip and merge (Windows 7) or just copy (Windows 10) the "Runtime" folder into your Daz Library.
This will put the image files in the same place the other image files are for the MoonBase uniform.

Alternately, you could browse down in my "Runtime" folder to get the image files and put them wherever you want.

MODIFICATION INSTRUCTIONS --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RIBBED WOOL

The ribbed wool uses the default shader that results from loading the bodysuit onto your figure,
but with the some parameters changed and texture image files replaced by the ones I supply in this download.
Those image files I supply are:

    MoonBase Uniform Wool.jpg
    MoonBase Uniform Wool Opacity.jpg
    MoonBase Uniform Wool Bump.jpg

The intended path to the image files I supply is:

Runtime\Libraries\materials\SciFi\ShadoUniforms

That's the same path that Jo Etzold's texture image files are in.
But you can move them to some other place you'd rather have them.

So anyway, these are the parameter changes to make:

    Lighting Model = Matte
Diffuse Color > [image] = MoonBase Uniform Wool.jpg [browse to wherever you put the image files I supply.]
    Diffuse Color > Red = 255
    Diffuse Color > Green = 255
    Diffuse Color > Blue = 255
    Ambient Color > Red = 126
    Ambient Color > Green = 126
    Ambient Color > Blue = 126
    Ambient Strength = 20.0%
Opacity Strength > [image] = MoonBase Uniform Wool Opacity.jpg
    Opacity Strength = 80.0%
Bump Strength > [image] = MoonBase Uniform Wool Bump.jpg
    Bump Strength = 40.0%
Displacement Strength > [image] = MoonBase Uniform Wool Bump.jpg
    Displacement Strength = 200.0%
    Maximum Displacement = 0.30
    Horizontal Tiles = 6.00
    Virtical Tiles = 6.00

These changes get applied to these material zones:

    mb-bodysuit2 > WoolArm
    mb-bodysuit2 > WoolBody
    mb-bodysuit2 > WoolLeg

SILVER LEATHER

The silver leather is the following free shader with modifications as shown:

Pd-Soft Leather Daz Studio Shaders for Iray,
by parrotdolphin: www.deviantart.com/parrotdolph…

Pick the "More Shine" version, and the "Grey2" color.

Change these parameters to these values:

    Base Color > Red = 50
    Base Color > Green = 50
    Base Color > Blue = 50
    Glossy Color > Red = 255
    Glossy Color > Green = 255
    Glossy Color > Blue = 255
    Glosiness = 1.00

This modified shader gets applied to these material zones:

    mb-bodysuit2 > MainSeam
    mb-bodysuit2 > SilverPlain
    mb-bodysuit2 > TopSeam
    mb-boots > LeatherMain
    mb-boots > LeatherReinforce
    mb-boots > TopSeam
    mb-toolbelt > Belt

That is all. Questions or comments to lukon100@hotmail.com

I've converted all these mats to Iray shaders!
Download the ZIP here:  Shado   and install in the folder DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Shader Presets (or wherever you want so you can find it)
It requires all of the materials provided by luqu  above.
Feel free to change anything, try starting with Opacity 0.00 on the Leg Seam zone.
Hope you like it!

Thanks so much for your help on this project, philbos!

Your Iray shader preset is a great option for those who seek full Iray compliance.

Chances are I will re-issue this mod kit to include your shader preset right in the download, along with correspondingly expanded instructions.

These settings are for 3Dlight materials, if you apply Iray Uber Base to them they will render better.
Will also need to change some settings for Iray, because "Ambient" will be converted to "Emissive"

Thank you for providing such detailed instruction.  I assumed it is for Iray renderer, right?

I did not create these instructions with Iray specifically in mind. But since Iray is the only render engine I ever use, and I created this to look nice to my personal tastes when I render it, I guess we could say it is for Iray. The promo image is Iray for sure.

Interesting.  I'll go over this when I have a spot of free time.  Thanks for posting.
