well socks are always good helps make the damsel more comfy and plus I am a gentleman and a nice guy...At least thats what girls that I know tell me but then again its always nice to remove the socks and tickle them almost like unwrapping a cristmas present

Shoes are much too lethal a weapon to leave in the hands - er, so to speak - of a deadly ninja, trussed up or not.
(So how do I justify sticking a pair of heels on my dressed-up damsels? Easily remedied -> tape them in place, hohoho)

Well, their level of mastery is also a factor (as well as whether the "ninjas" in your neck of the woods have magic and super powers and stuff or are more "realistic" takes on the genre). I imagine comprehensive escapology classes, especially as a requirements for higher-ups in he ninja clans who would know secrets that would require protection.
On the plus side, if you're the significant other of a cute ninja girl, you probably get to help her study for the escapology exams.
