I love the twinz' design, but I agree with their cut, especially because they made no sense ??? looks like a ghost, is actually normal dark, just to fit the girafarig evolution... Also I do like older girafarig as much as the current one -w-And of course I had to draw the ghost pokemon as it's my favortie type and I like them very much, I think the evolution would probably have looked better on later games tho I am not a huge fan of the original sprite...

I think the evolution chain makes perfect sense. This is pokemon after all, where a remora/gun evolves into an octopus/tank. Gives girafarig some uniqueness.

Had they actually kept these beta Pokemon for the final release of the game, I believe it'd be totally likely Twinz and Kurstraw would have been Team Rocket's Pokémon.

well what I said made no sense was their typing?
normal/dark
when they look a lot like gastly/haunter's old sprite which are ghost/poison
the only reason they were normal/dark is because their evolution (girafarig) was normal/dark
(also I think sea creature mixed with artillery evolving into sea creature mixed with artillery makes perfect sense to me lol, especially with their older designs)

I suspect Twinz is based on a conjoined fetus. They also resemble wobbufet’s tail. They are more creative IMO for not being ghost type.

I mean, making garchomp's evoline ground instead of water because they are land sharks, that is creative
just throwing 2 types together with no clear relation to the actual design, not so much, imo

I find that to be very restrictive thinking which pigeonholes pokemon designs. Ditto and porygon are normal type but look nothing like we often think normal types to look. Twinz shares the same odd theme and I for one applaud GameFreak for being so creative.

both porygon and ditto are supposed to be "typeless" since one is a digital pokemon and the other is a formless pokemon that can turn into anything and therefore any type.
so normal type is what makes more sense for them, since ??? was not a possible type hah.
Now a normal/dark combo... it makes a lot of sense for girafarig, showing their 2 sides. That does not translated into the pre-evo however, since both sides look to be the same there... they do look dark, so a pure dark type could work, but not normal, or typeless... but eitherway that is just my opinion, and while I do think it's possible they cut it because of that, it may have been for a different reason, and maybe their dex would have had something to clarify what they are supposed to be. I'd love to see them try this design idea again -w-.

Twinz are conjoined good and evil twins. Their dual type reflects their dual personality, not their appearance. I doubt it was cut because of typing. There are many youtube videos listing a dozen or so pokemon with the “wrong” type. The fact that Twinz is obviously a conjoined fetus may or may not have been the reason.

great drawing, just looked all those pokemons up who never appeared in the official games, many of them where great actually, better then some of the new ones. (clavion etc)

I like most of the current pokemon, including klefki, and a lot of those beta pokemon did get reworked into current ones on 2nd or later gens! The biggest loss was all the babies and evolutions we will definitely never get, poor farfetch'd.

the sprite colors and the dither effect around it is just like gastly/haunter's I would have thought it was supposed to be a gastly baby if they didnt have a full evoline already hah.
