A cat allmate he picked out a few months before Lin moved out of his parents' home. One might say that Wei is the antithesis of his owner; he is sly and mischevious, humorous and sociable, yet like his owner, fickle, slightly pompous. He enjoys egging Lin on when he's upset, but backs off soon when he feels he's going too far. One of the reasons he sometimes doesn't get along with Lin is the fact that Wei hardly ever takes anything seriously, even things that matter a lot to Lin. With Lin's highs and lows, Wei is always along for the ride, finding amusement and fun in nearly everything.

History:
Lin was born to a privileged family in Japan, to a Japanese mother and a Chinese father, both succesful executives in the business world. He spent the majority of his childhood indoors, learning to play board games and sound smart and dress and speak like he came from money. Having spent his childhood being pampered and coddled and told he was special, he began to believe it, heart and soul. Lin began obsessing over his looks even before his preteen years, making the decision to grow his hair out and take extra special care of it. He was often told by his parents that he looked like a little prince. The downisde to this, though, was that if they ever caught him on a rare day where he wasn't immaculate, he was heavily berated. This kind of behavior led to Lin becoming wrapped up in himself at an early age.

Because of this, "friendship" was an elusive, foreign concept. During his adolesence, he was frightfully awkward around strangers due to the fact that he only ever paid attention to himself. He never knew how to interact with people, or hold a decent conversation, and Lin was painfully aware of it. He decided that, instead of coming across as bumbling and awkward, he'd rather seem intimidating; the strong, silent type. So, over the course of his early teen years, Lin worked on becoming detached, and seeming more dissinterested in people, forcefully changing his nature into what he was sure that he wanted. After long, hard years of meticulous pruning, it seemed to work. People became nuisances to him, unless they were doing what he wanted. He became blunt, coarse, terse. Perfect.

He finished high school with grades he would only disclose at knifepoint, and had been planning to attend college somewhere. Alas, the city of his birth, despite all of its bright lights and flashing signs, began to bore him. He took a long time to decide that he needed a new place, a fresh start, as he put it to his reluctant parents. They didn't put up too much resistance; after all, they had businesses to run. They allowed him to pick his new place of residence on his own. Vacidado was actually chosen by Wei, whom Lin had purchased some time prior, and was still coming to trust. After much badgering and yapping, Lin gave into his Allmate's counsel (more or less to stop his "convincing"), and he left with Wei for Vacidado, where he now attends college, new to a life on his own and unsure as to where he would like for this place to take him.
