“Of course, Charmcaster has got to be preparing for an all-out attack and we need to be ready. A lockdown will give us all the time in the world to prepare.”

“Okay, let’s do it… I just wish Ben and Kevin were here, we’re seriously lacking in firepower.”

“Oh, so Charmcaster is the superior magic user after all? Who knew you were so scared of her. *Giggle*”

“Not helping, cousin Lucy.”

“Oh, come on, we can take her and her little minions, they’ll try to break in and be forced to fight unit one, during the chaos I’ll slip in disguised as one of her servants, then you and I will ambush them, simple!”

“... Uh huh, let’s just get the shield ready, I’ll talk to grandpa Max.” The full plumber hq prepared frantically for the unavoidable attack to come while Lucy prepared in a different way.

“... … … Mistress, the plan is going exactly as expected, the plumbers will go into lockdown, and I will open a hidden entrance to let you in from the back, Gwen suspects nothing.”

“Excellent job Lucy, you have been a most excellent double agent, even more useful than Julie. Will your absence stir suspicions?”

“I’ve always been known as a wild card; my unit won’t suspect a thing *giggle*.”

“Good, it’s almost time, be ready Lucy.”

“Of course, mistress, I am yours.” On Julie’s last visit to plumber hq she was able to brainwash Lucy, strangely Lucy’s mind accepted the harmony charm right away without being weakened, it was as if her mind saw the charm as something not to be feared or maybe she just had a weak will.

HQ was put into lockdown soon enough and Lucy opened the entrance to the purple charmer. The plan was simple, Lucy would meet up with Gwen and await the perfect opportunity to turn her over to Charmcaster. Frightwig and Ester would sneak through the base, taking a few plumbers out at a time. Kai would stay with her mistress in the shadows as they prepared to make their move. Julie would play the girl in distress before luring unsuspecting plumbers to their defeat. Rojo, in her camouflage armour, would get to the main controls once the chaos started and take the base out of lockdown which would lead to the armies of princess Attea and Looma to come down in full force as a final assault.

Charmcaster may have been waiting in the shadows, but she was far from sitting idle. Now that she was here and so close to victory, she was going to make the most of it, tormenting Gwen from a distance and throwing her off her game.

Julie and Frightwig both took out a good number of plumbers without getting caught, Frightwig’s movements were as elegant as ever, not a single wasted movement. Rojo made her way to the main controls when a most shocking silhouette of a person suddenly appeared. Rojo was taken out in an instant from a mysterious source.

Charmcaster could feel the defeat of Rojo, but she had no clue who it could have been, the plumbers were still none the wiser to their scheme yet one of their best had already been taken out, this person needed to be identified and quick. At one point, a single plumber found himself in the secret room that Charmcaster took refuge in which left Charmcaster with a single response. “Kai?”

“At once my mistress.” The plumber was taken out in a clean, single swipe. Lucy had reunited with Gwen, all seemed well except for that single unknown looming shadow.

“Gwen! Charmcaster has already broken through our defences, she’s here!”

“Really?! This is bad… I…”

“Psych! There’s no way they’d make it through so quickly, you’re so paranoid Gwen, lighten up”

“Lucy… We don’t have time for your games right now, I need to focus.”

“Actually, you may want to listen to her, Gwen. You won’t be at your best if you don’t have a clean mind.”

“That voice… It can’t be.” Another Gwen appeared from the shadows, an older Gwen from the future. “How are you here… Why are you here?”

“It’s a long story but to be brief, the battle you’re about to get involved in is of life-changing importance… Charmcaster wins…”

“What?! That… that can’t be… how?”

“I’m not entirely sure but she’s snuck in somehow and will eventually take over the entire base and will brainwash you and Lucy.

“If you know all this then…”

“Yes, I was hypnotised for years. I was only able to escape by luck to warn you here, you can’t underestimate her.”

“Relax. We have two Gwens now, right? *Giggle*, no way Charmcaster can beat both of you.

“I would hope so, but you can’t be too sure, I think it would be best to stay together to confront Charmcaster. Be careful Lucy, something tells me you’re her next target.

Charmcaster heard everything, of course time itself would go against what was to be her most assured victory, still, she wasn’t ready to give up and neither was Lucy.
