I realized, it was impossible to fit a pair of wings (which were originally drawn on) onto Flutters here without it blocking most of the birds. So, for the sake of the drawing I had to quite literally sever some things off the poor thing, and it turned out a little bit better than I expected.Pencil and watercolor.

You know, even though it was an improvised change that you made for purely utilitarian reasons, the severing of the wings adds a sweet little parable to this picture about being there for friends when they really need you.
I really can't love this more.

Your drawings always seem very emotional, but this one in particular just made stop for a moment. Somehow the various elements of this piece, the contrast between the light, brightly colored birds and Fluttershy, the roughness and heaviness of her outlines and even the faint hint of the wings that could be there, come together to tell a story much greater than what's apparent at a glance. Truly a work of art.
