Description
More figure drawings from the life drawing session I attend, all 1-5 minute poses. These were drawn 9/29/09 I was messing around as far as style goes tonight, not aiming for strict realism. Trying to be more fluid, achieve some grace and expression in line.Related content

Fantastic studies! I wish my life drawing sessions went this well e.deviantart.net/emoticons/f/f⌠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Although some of the proportions are bewildering (what's with his arm on the bottom right?), they still work great as sketches, capturing motion, balance, and most importantly, a sense of attitude with the figures. All of them have a great sense of weight, and you can really tell which of the poses the model had a hard time standing still for.
The interior lines are doubly impressive - a lot of people when life drawing stick with the obvious lights and shadows, but it looks more like you used the model as reference for how the body comes together, with a lot of subtle interplay between light and shadow eschewed for the big picture.
Great sketches, fantastic work for such short poses. Love it.

Do you mind if I draw pictures inspired by these? I would by no means copy your drawings, just draw things with this guy's general, I don't know what to call it... attitude?

This is so visually interesting. While you stay (mostly) accurate to form and proportion, there's so much of your own drawing style inherent.
Would you mind if I pinned this to an anatomy board that I'm creating for reference to other artists? I thought it would be better if I asked your permission, and if I should credit Luthien13, or your full name.
(Btw, my favorite part of all of these sketches is the calf muscles, which might be the most exaggerated feature--I think it works!)

I am doing a life drawing class this week (my second class ever), and I am still little rusty, but these awesome sketches are a great inspiration! The poses in my drawings are pretty stiff, and what I really have to work on is the 'flow' of the figure and this great fluidity you captured so well in these few poses.
Is that a ballpoint pen you are using? How large do you do these sketches?

You definitely did pull off grace and expression in the lines. The essence of the pose is very clear.
Very nice

Very Impressive, I like how you rendered the ligaments. It shows such nice fluid movements.

These are excellent. Just truly fantastic. After racking my brains for something to say that could pass for 'critique' I would venture to suggest that one or two of your figures look quite femmenine, but then we haven't seen the model.

Love the fluidity in these, and the way you draw feet.

I used to model like this! I hated doing the warm up gestures! I can see the line movement.
